Very calm and quiet neighborhood. Lake is right in the back yard. Loved sitting on the porch and just watching the water especially when the sun is rising or setting. Very perfect for a quiet weekend fishing trip.

Beautiful Lake
Bob and May have obviously gone to great lengths to make the place presentable and accommodating with all the kitchen and bathroom amenities you could ask for. But, If I was going for anything other than enjoying the lake I might be disappointed. The internet was not working, not the best bathroom/plumbing accommodations, lots of DVDs but no way to watch them, there is a Roku tv but with no internet no way to watch anything, however the lake and the proximity of Mount Cheaha is worth it all.

We enjoyed our stay very much! The setting is beautiful! Watching the geese fly in and land on the lake was a special treat! Robert was so kind and helpful! I'd love to go back at a warmer time of year and enjoy the canoe and outdoors more! The house was very clean and met our needs well!

Awesome house
This is our second stay here at Thanksgiving- the kitchen has everything we need to cook a great meal - then once we are done - we go hiking at Mt Cheaha. The weather a couple years ago was cold and raining but this year it was cool and sunny and perfect. We brought boats - put in right there and my son caught and released three bass. Just wonderful sunsets around the fire pit. Thanks again- we will be back!

Peaceful Lake House
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There was plenty of room for our family of four to relax together and have some space to ourselves as well. There were plenty of towels and other amenities to make things comfortable. The view from the porches and yard were so nice and the canoe was a nice added bonus. We definitely look forward to visiting again.

Our stay was wonderful. Cabin had everything we needed for a great weekend. Great communication and the area is beautiful. We were off roading at nearby morris mountain and the cabin was a great place to unwind at the end of the day. Will definitely stay again. Could use some bed and furniture upgrades.

nice property, well stocked, remote
This property is location is remote as many lake front locations are . Its a mixed community of houses and trailers, pretty typical for rural Alabama. The house itself is nice and with upper and lower front porches. We spent evenings on the front porch just listening to the birds and frogs. Fishing off the dock was fun. The water is pretty clean and there isn't anything around to snag your line. Lots of sunfish around the dock for kids to catch. Bait store is about 8 miles away at intersection of route 9. There is also a Dollar General there to get your basic supplies. Oxford/Anniston is about 20 minutes away with a just about everything you'd want in groceries and restaurants. Bob the owner goes to alot of effort to make sure the home is welcoming,. Its the best stocked house I have ever rented, comfortable beds, lots of seating in and out of the house and was the house was very clean. House has wifi fast enough to support your basic needs like google search, making calls and getting texts. Don't count on cell phone service. While I didn't use it the boat ramp next to the house is a nice feature. Just bring plenty of rope to tie the boat off. The house also provides a canoe and a swim dock If you want an affordable getaway where you can fish or just enjoy being on the lake and don't mind being in rural (rural being the key word here) Alabama, then this is a great choice.
