Charming hotel, beyond beautiful setting and absolutely the best staff. Everyone who works there is exceptional from the front desk to the gardeners, the housekeeping and servers at the restaurant. Can't wait to return.

Love the place but the elevator wasn’t working which was very inconvenient since in order to get to any rooms you have to use stairs and I had the baby and stroller also older people there were having a tough time with the stairs. I think we should have been offered a discount for the inconvenience

This resort was built in the early 1900’s & the renovations have not kept up with the times. The common areas are lovely & spacious & the gardens are nicely maintained. The room we had was close to 300CAD with taxes so I was expecting a bit of luxury. The bathroom was straight out of a 60’s motel, including threadbare towels. The bed & bedding were fine. We could hear noises from the hall, the room beside us & the room above us. It was like the walls were cardboard. There were some decaf (!) Nespresso pods but no machine (?). No fridge. Plastic & paper cups. Disappointing. The buffet breakfast was quite nice.

Honestly- I don’t review often but we really did not enjoy our stay at the Pines. It was after 5pm when we finally got the keys to our cottage - which was very outdated. We had plumbing troubles that nobody responded to. There was a “frat-like” party a couple of cottages down that was out of control and overall the place seemed tired and run down. For the cost this place is not worth the trip. The highlight was the pool attendant named Virginia- she was a doll! As a Nova Scotia local I would highly not recommend staying here- which is a shame.

Property/rooms was very old. They knowingly placed us in a room with a gurgling faucet and tub and AC unit, unable to look out the window because there was tape and plexiglass. The food was bland. It reminded me of Harry Potter. The grounds are kept well and the pool is very nice. The people are very nice there too.

We had a lovely experience at the resort. The food was excellent, the staff was extra kind. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot sauna. The bed was divine. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This was a fine trip with relatives, that were sailing back to New Brunswick the next day. The breakfast was one of the best I have had for buffet. The staff are very nice, and the property looked beautiful. There is a lot of stair climbing, so if you are old like me, better keep in shap. We had a nice room, with a pull out sofa bed, and a Nespresso coffee machine, and some nice cold air. One idea I would like to pass on, is it would be nice to have a fridge and a microwave in our room, it would make life better in your room with these appliances. I have learned a few things to know and ask for, the next time we stay. Thank you.

Staying at this property felt like stepping into another era—full of charm and warmth, it truly became a home away from home. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene ocean tides, which offered a mesmerizing view each day. The resort was thoughtfully stocked with board games, and the on-site restaurant delivered high-quality meals that made dining a pleasure. What I appreciated most was that I didn’t need to leave the resort to enjoy myself. Between the inviting sitting rooms, spacious common areas, and the relaxing pool deck, there was always somewhere to unwind or socialize. While the rooms were on the smaller side and featured twin beds—which was a slight letdown—the resort’s amenities more than made up for it. In fact, I spent so much time enjoying the shared spaces that the room size hardly mattered. I would absolutely stay here again.

We got no advance warning about the lack of elevator service even tho it was not a new problem. This is a bad omission when traveling with a handicapped person.we were on the 3rd floor with no option to switch rooms. No hot water the following day. Old property in need of upgrading. Aristocratic days are over

This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Our first hint that it would go poorly was that the entrance was 8 steep steps with no handicap access. Then when we checked in, we found out that the elevator was out of service, and our room was on the third floor, which was actually more like six floors. I have mobility issues, so the trek up all those stairs was extremely difficult. Once we got to our room, further disappointment arose. There was no refrigerator, and the water faucet was really difficult to manuever. Very disappointment.
