The furnishings are comfortable, and the overall decorations give it character. The cabin is conveniently located to town and was a relaxing place to unwind.

Wonderful!

Property was easy to find, close to Franklin but secluded from noise pollution. Cabin was well decorated, clean and in overall excellent condition. Would stay here again!

Quaint Cabin

Cute, rustic place tucked away in the mountains. We really enjoyed the fireplace during the cooler nights. Not far from stores and restaurants it was a quick drive for anything we needed. Hosts were receptive and we would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

Charming Cottage

We spent Thanksgiving week at this charming cottage and really enjoyed the experience. Great place to unwind while maintaining connections to the internet and broadcast TV. Our hosts were very responsive and accommodating to our special requests. The home was clean and comfortable, well stocked, and met all of our needs. Would definitely stay again.

Nice cabin . Had everything we needed. Window AC units are only in the bedrooms, this was the only down side. The bedrooms, living room and kitchen got warm during the day.

North Carolina get-a-way

The cottage was in the perfect tucked away spot with wonderful access to hiking and waterfalls in the Nantahala Forest. It was super clean and organized. We had everything we needed. The only suggestion we had was to replace the mattress upstairs. Sharalea and Jorge had great instructions for check in and it was so easy. They were also very available for any of our questions and concerns.

Unique

We were drawn to the unique features of this place. The hosts were responsive and the kitchen was nicely stocked for cooking our own meals. If someone is very sensitive to smells, I’d advise you not to stay as their is an overall musty smell despite the dehumidifier running. But if you love staying places that have special features that make your stay memorable, pick this place!

Peaceful, unless the wind blew...lol!!

Everything was wonderful...only being that time of year, the trees were losing their nuts and dropping very loudly onto the metal roof of the carport! We almost made it a drinking game!

Wonderful Visit

We had a wonderful visit at the Stone Cottage Retreat. Stayed just over a week while making day trips around NC, GA & TN. We missed SC this time. Was a great place to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. Also a great location to just relax and unwind. There are neighbors there but we never heard anything from them other than a little barking when we first arrived. The check in process did un-nerve me a little but we handled that through a phone call with the owner and an e-mail. Thinking about when we can do this again.

Exceeded my expectations

This is a beautiful property, inside and out with fantastic décor. The location is very private, but only 3 to 4 miles of all the amenities of a small town (Grocery store, Lowes, restaurants including fast food). The location is very friendly to all type of excursions. We visited the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad, gem mining, local brewery, and waterfalls to name a few. Only issue we had was the weather at this time of year, hot, humid and afternoon thunder storms. Next time I would recommend May to early June, I recommend this property to everyone. The property owners are very reachable and receptive regarding any assistance or questions you may have.

Stone cottage

No one could sleep in the room downstairs due to a dehumidifier going on and off with no door to block the noise. The TV upstairs didn't work. I wish there had been a heater upstairs because I didn't feel good about leaving the gas fireplace on all night.

The perfect cabin getaway

Love this place! I recommend getting there when it's light because the road it's on is a bit hard to do in the dark, the driveway is steep But they do have a parking spot at the top and you can walk down the drive way if you aren't comfortable backing down it all the way.its a very quiet little street and surrounded by trees.The inside is beautiful with wood furniture and fun decor. You can tell it's a really well taken care of place and loved. The 2 rooms are big, decent beds with TVs in both rooms,massive closets And both have window units for a/c. The bathrooms are big. Tub is awesome and the shower is done with stone and very easy to adjust the shower head height. The kitchen honestly surprised me with how much they had in it as far as appliances, cups, plates ext. Living rooms couch was super comfy too. The hosts are very communicative and respond fast! My kids LOVED this place. I mean didn't wanna leave. For this price, the location, and the cottage itself. 10000% will stay here again.

Great family stay

We had an excellent stay at stone cottage retreat. We have stayed in numerous VRBO properties over the past 14 or so years, and this is by far the most well stocked one we’ve stayed in. When they say they have everything you need, they literally do! I brought things with us because I was accustomed to having to do so for the other properties we’ve stayed at before, who would have the basics, but usually be missing some things I needed. I didn’t need anything here, including the cooking spray I brought. I did bring my own crockpot and no clue if they have one; I used mine bc I know how it cooks. Communication with the owners was excellent and I knew exactly how to get in touch if we had an issue, which we didn’t. The cabin is very comfortable, the beds were very comfortable, everything was very clean, and we couldn’t have been more pleased. It’s easy to get to and convenient to travel to other areas! We definitely plan to book stone cottage retreat again.

We loved our time at the Stone cottage! It was a perfect mountain get away! Sharalea was so responsive and helpful with any questions! The Stone Cottage is a real Gem!

This cabin/cottage is exactly as it appears in the listing. The homeowners are very reachable and helpful and also provide you with every bit of information you could need to make the process of check in and out an ease. They have information for areas to visit and suggestions for things to do in the area, provide information about the local grocery stores and even give restaurant suggestions! They provide the necessities like soap, toilet paper and paper towels, cleaning supplies, dish soap, and even clothes washing detergent! They really have attempted to make everything as easy as possible! There is a charcoal grill on site, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor table, and a fire pit area. You can also sit in the swing and enjoy hearing the birds and wildlife. There are lots of feeders on site and they provide bird seed for them so if you enjoy birds, it’s a watchers paradise! The beds are very comfortable and they have it set up for you to be able to stream from the TV’s in each room also. We have a 5 and 6 year old and they enjoyed the cabin! We made s’mores, watched movies, visited many of the local waterfalls and explored in Cherokee. We cooked many meals at the cottage and always had breakfast and coffee there. It’s the perfect setting to get away and enjoy family time or perfect for a couple or 2 couples to go and enjoy the mountains! We are looking forward to returning and are so glad we found this Gem in Franklin!
