This home is located between Franklin and Dillsboro/Sylva in the Watauga Vista Community. This home has a spacious Great Room & dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is Smart TV's , Wi-Fi, & great cell reception. Easy access to this home at 3400 ft. elevation. NO PETS. There are stairs from driveway to porch and also from Main Level to the Master. 3BD/2BA. 1 King, 1 Queen, & 2 Twins. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns PLEASE NOTE: THE $50 "MANAGEMENT FEE" IS A HEAT UPCHARGE FOR THE FALL/WINTER MONTHS \-$10 will be charged for each bag of trash left at the property \-NO DIRTY DISHES left in the sink/dishwasher. Views of the surrounding Mountains and peaks are Amazing. This setting coupled with all of the furnishings you need make for a worthwhile memorable vacation. The views are even better than described and the pics don’t do it justice. The cabin was spacious, clean and well appointed. The location was perfect. It was at the top of the mountain but you didn’t have to do all of the winding small roads to get there. It was secluded and private (literally all you can see are woods and mountains from the porch), but still close to the main road, grocery stores, breweries, restaurants etc. You can quickly get to Dillard, Sylva , Franklin and Bryson City from this spot. We loved watching the hummingbirds during the day and listening to the frogs at night. The view was spectacular at an altitude of 3200 feet. And very important to me was that there was very quick and easy access to the highway. I have stayed at cabins in the past that were miles and miles down dirt roads and far from any highway. The easy access of this cabin is nice if you are sightseeing every day as we were. Overall the cabin contributed greatly to the enjoyment of our vacation. The location and view were perfect for our Thanksgiving weekend getaway! Everything was as listed. A couple of recommendations; kitchen- need casserole dishes, a whisk, and steak knives. One complaint we had is the mattresses are too hard and sleeping did not come easy! We did use the electric grill and cook in the oven- smoke alarm went off once the oven temp teaches 300- annoying. Overall, our stay was enjoyable and peaceful, which we needed. What a beautiful home with everything you need and just a short drive into Franklin. What a beautiful neighborhood, we enjoyed many morning and evening walks that were like walking through the enchanted forest. Internet and TV were great and property has easy paved roads to access. I would not hesitate to stay here again. There were some minor issues and a couple of things to keep in mind. We did have an issue with the smoke detectors going off which I am sure the owners will address. The property manager responded in quick time and it's just one of those things, no big deal. The gravel driveway can be hard to see at night and could use some lighting or something to make it more visible at night when you are unfamiliar. There is a small flight of stairs to get to the front door, if you have mobility issues or can't carry luggage etc...up stairs you might keep this in mind. Very minor things and we really enjoyed this beautiful home. More impressed with the extras we uncovered at every turn. The came the traffic from the nearby highway. Not a show stopper, but not the quiet I was expecting. Then the AC quit on day 2\. Traffic noise all night every night, sleeping in a smaller bed so we could have windows open for air...notshow stoppers, but added stress to our getaway. The house was clean and had all the amenities we needed! The view is spectacular and the wrap-around porch is the perfect spot to decompress from whatever city job stresses you may have! The house was in a good, central location for us and all the activities we had planned during our stay. If there was any downside to the property, it would be that it was close enough to the main highway that you could hear the traffic noise constantly during the daylight hours. It settled down a bit during the night. It did not bother me or my family enough to damper our stay, though. This cabin was the perfect spot for friends to meet up and reconnect. The cabin was in good condition and the views from the deck were some of the best we have seen. We were not prepared for the steep steps up and down from the parking area and we would caution anyone who has difficulty dealing with stairs. It would not be an issue for all groups, but it certainly could be for some. The A/C worked well and were were thankful for the separate system upstairs that helped to keep that room comfortable. The wifi worked well and the washer/dryer were helpful during our 8 night stay. The kitchen was somewhat lacking in supplies and we ended up purchasing a pan and teakettle to use during our stay. While US 441 brought road noise that occasionally interrupted the serenity of the site, the amazing views from the deck made up for it. The property was located within easy driving distance of nearby Haywood Smoke House (bbq), Walmart, and the super-Ingles on the Georgia Highway (US 441). The area offered convenient access to many day-trips to hiking, waterfalls, fly fishing etc. The fly fishing shop in downtown Franklin offered great advice and helped us find fish.
