I went to Massanutten for the ski chair lift experience which was fantastic. The property is beautiful, clean and inviting. My unexpected surprise came at check in where I was told that there were “20 steps up to my condo and is that a problem?” When I said yes, I was told that “after I made my Rez online I should have called the property to inquire”?? The second unpleasant surprise was being told to get in a second line to “get my parking pass” only to find out it was a gimmick to get me to agree to a time share tour! Seriously? My third surprise was when I inquired how to get to my room I was given GPS directions and when I arrived (thankfully still light outside as there are no lights lining the 2.6 mile drive to the condo) I found myself in a parking lot with three choices: hotel 3,4 or conference center. I had to call the concierge to ask where to go from the middle of the parking lot. He was helpful. Last, parking is terrible and the facility is not walkable. I tried along with many others to get a parking space and table at one of the restaurants on Sat- but many cars and I drove around and left. A lot of missed revenue there.
Again, I don’t see how this would be enjoyable for a family/ esp at ski time, with a lack of parking, no walk ability and darkness.
