At first sight the property appeared clean but woke up to bed bugs at 6 am. We were refunded our money but of course a short nights sleep and now days later with welts. It was located in a nice quiet area. However, the elevator was broken the entire time we were there, and apparently they’ve had lots of issues with it. And our room was set for the 3rd floor with no option to switch to the first floor since the hotel was full. We didn’t know in advance and we had a lot of heavy luggage to carry up and down the non-air conditioned stairwells. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t meet expectations. Our room had a strong mildew smell, and the bathroom floor had hair and small black bugs in the corners. It was clear the room hadn’t been vacuumed properly, and the headboard was noticeably dirty. To make matters worse, the elevator was out of service, so we had to climb to the third floor with three kids and all our luggage. That was exhausting. The pool was also closed, even though the weather was hot—something we were really looking forward to.
