This is a beautiful hotel. It’s quiet, in a gorgeous and convenient part of the city for exploring, and areas such as the bar, the spa and bedroom were stunning.
The spa in particular was so calm and a great place to relax. It’s been recently renovated and has great facilities. On one afternoon visit I had the whole place to myself.
Our bedroom was large and well presented. The turn down service was a nice touch.
Another new feature was the breakfast room, which looks fantastic. I think this is one area that’s having teething problems. It’s not run very well, and it lacks the service of the other parts of the hotel. Although I think the waiting staff and chefs were friendly. Even when we were early in the hot food was lukewarm, and wasn’t as good as other hotels I’ve visited. You often waited a long time to get a hot drink, for some reason they didn’t take it straight away. The people making the coffees need some training too. Overall it could do with a more hands on manager to get it working better.
