Two night stay at this hotel which I can best describe as nice. I found the whole rather impersonal in general though. The room was very comfortable and warm, most important when it was cold outside. The shower was good with plenty of hot water and the large bottles of hand soap, hair and body washes seemed of reasonable quality. The breakfast was good and self service. Always good as one can take what one wants and prevent wastage.
I have marked down on room cleanliness as despite me leaving out a sign on the door that I would like the room cleaned whilst I was out this did not happen. I was out several hours and don't call room cleaning a knock on the door two minutes after my return and the offer of more coffee, tea or fresh towels room cleaning. Yes I can make my own bed but was paying for this to be done and the floor swept.
Front desk staff were polite but rather impersonal. My comment on difficulty finding the hotel the first night was met with indifference. The offer of one the maps on the desk would have been a better response.

Unfortunately our bathroom drainage was faulty and flooded the bathroom twice. It was finally repaired after third day. The hotel also had a power outage on 13 AUG from 0400-1300. We were lucky as our room was on 2F, but I felt very sorry for guests staying on higher 5-7 floors as there was only the staircase to use. No cooked breakfast was served that morning. We found it odd as the least we expected was a letter of apology in the room by the manager when we returned. So such service such as free drink coupon for the inconvenience, etc. No service recovery!

This was our first trip to Helsinki and definitely want to return, and would like to stay at this Hotel again. The location was perfect for walking around Helsinki, for transport, and the bonus is there is a view of the water, and the comings and goings of ferries, fishing boats, and people.

2 night stay. Hotel on 5th and 6th floor of an office building. Walking up to the hotel made me think hotel would be more a hostel. However room ok, just better than average. Cleanliness could be better but bed and shower good. Just a bit more dusting. Staff love to help.
Basically for a quick trip away, perfect. Location alone would secure my stay again.

Near to metro to city centre. Quiet area but several good restaurants/bistros in locality. Bus and tram service. My only complaints were that my room was too hot and the TV system was tempremental in that sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't but all in all good hotel

Excellent location. We rented bikes from hotel, excellent rate and the bike path/walkway is across the street from the hotel. Wonderful way to explore the parks, harbour and outshirts of the city.
That same shared bike/walkway goes directly to the P train tracks which takes you to the airport.

Although the hotel has a very convenient location, it's clean, And in general terms comfortable; I didn't like the experience of not having human contact with people from that hotel At all. Our check in time was set for p.m. and we arrived at two on we had to wait on till four outside in the very cold weather for the access code to activate and then we can get into the room. Not having staff gives no room for flexibility or unexpected situations that you experience as a traveler .

The Torni has a lovely, low key historical charm and boasts one of the best views in Helsinki from its Ateljee bar on the 12th floor. Centrally located but on a quiet side street, the hotel offers a spectacular, nordic style breakfast. The staff is excellent; on a recent visit several members went well beyond the call of duty to help resolve a problem around air tickets. Altogether, Torni is one of my favorite hotels in Europe.

I have to say, having never been to Finland I didn't know what to expect, do or see apart from what I read on the Internet. The concierge ladies were amazing and gave us so many helpful tid-bits. The room was amazing and so comfy. I wanted to take the shower home.
I would recommend this hotel to both short and long stay people. We stayed 8 nights and never felt uncomfortable at all. The hotel is a very short walk to the centre of the city and there is much to do. We didn't get to use the bikes but they looked like a great day out.
I would happily stay there again and above all totally hype about the hotels to others. Well done!

Kamppi is part of the central business district of Helsinki. One of the biggest attractions is Kamppi Centre, a main commercial and residential complex. The Centre includes a central bus system, metro station, a 6 floor shopping center, corporate offices, and apartments. The Old Church of Helsinki, located in Old Church Park, was built in 1862 and is the oldest existing church in Helsinki.
