Your Colorado Mountain Getaway!

Gorgeous views surround you inside and out. Perched at 10,000 ft on 4.5 acres the Castle Rock Chalet is your perfect mountain getaway. Located 90 minutes from Denver off of US HWY 285 in Indian Mountain.

Our 2 Br/2 BA cabin comfortably sleeps 6 to 8. Fully equipped gourmet kitchen awaits for your culinary adventures. 1200 sq ft deck is perfect for enjoying the magnificent views. Flyfish or pan for gold in the Tarryall Creek or other nearby spots.

Free Standing Garage is equipped with cross country skis, golf clubs and Mountain Bikes, Ping Pong table, too. DishTV, Flat Screen TV, DVR and Stereo in the Living room. Wifi available.

Cabin fun things to do:

Horseback riding - Open range and forest riding - Safari Ranch.

Mountain biking - Several mountain biking trails in Lost Lake Forest

Pasture golf taking golf back to its foundation, be sure to bring a few beers to add to the fun. Clubs and balls are in the garage.

Hiking - Lots of great hikes close by. The Grant to Georgetown driving route stopping at the top of the pass to hike is among Colorado's best.

Fishing. Some of the best fishing in Colorado. Pick up a license in Jefferson or Fairplay and head to Lake Jefferson or Tarryall Reservoir.

Explore Colorado mining history - Como and SouthPark in Fairplay are fun and educational, also there is mine with tours outside of Breckenridge. Visit Old Town in Fairplay, a collection of buildings from the South Park area from the 1800's.

Panning for Gold - Head down to Tarryall Creek and the BLM land to try your luck in a stream that has a number of abandoned gold mining ruins.

Frisbee golf in the subdivision, Disc's are in the garage and also on site in a metal box (no key necessary as it's always open).

River Rafting- 90 minutes away is Royal Gorge or go 90 minutes in a different direction to Buena Vista and river raft the Arkansas River.

Christmas Vacation
The property was great. Every question I had was answered quickly. The only complaint we had that the owners have too much stuff within the cabin it’s hard for a family to come and stay especially for a week and have room to put groceries with their stuff everywhere. Also when people are on vacation they don’t want to look at pics of them other than that it is as great. Thank u.

Gorgeous!!!!
We had an amazing week! The home is well stocked with supplies to enjoy the outdoors and furnished comfortably! We enjoyed our family vacation and letting our kids enjoy the snow and outdoors! One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever booked a VRBO! It was beautiful in winter and we’d love to come back on the summer!

Amazing Property
The pictures of this property do not do it justice. If you love nature and the ability to hike right out your front door, this is THE place to stay. Even with the forest fires in the west, the smoke settles in the valley and doesn't upset your views. Accessibility to the finest that CO has to offer is all right here. 14K peaks and awesome hiking is all within 60 to 90 minutes. So much of CO has is becoming overdeveloped and pretentious, but the South Park area has been left untapped, pristine, and lush. The wildflowers are like gardens for your viewing pleasure, the peaks are attainable, and creeks and alpine lakes are gorgeous. I have been to CO at least 15 times and never experienced this area before. Going forward, this is the place that I will continue to visit.

Breathtaking!
I truly don't have the words that measure the beauty of this place! I would highly reccommend this property. My husband & I would love to return! We made plans for our return trip to Colorado but cancelled them all just to have more time to soak in the views that this chalet offers. There were so many activities to do right outside the front door- biking, hiking, fishing & looking at wildlife. We had so much fun! We seen a lot of cows drinking from & hanging around the Terryall Creek. We stayed in late July & the weather was perfect. It was extremely quiet & peaceful. This location is perfect!! It's only 30 minutes from town. It was fully stocked with anything you need, which really made it feel like home. It was, by far, the best stay we have ever had in Colorado. A huge thank you to the owner's for allowing us to enjoy their lovely home!!

WOW! Just WOW!
We were fortunate to stay for a week at this beautiful house. Well worth the drive to this relatively remote location. The drive in is amazing in itself. We saw a lot of wildlife and enjoyed hiking down to the river. There is a lot to do in the area if you are up for a drive but it is equally wonderful to just stay put and appreciate the view. The host was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The house is well appointed and comfortable for our party of 4. Would definitely go back!

Majestic View and Cabin Too
We contacted the owner of the cabin that we wanted to spend Christmas in the mountains of Colorado. When we first arrived after spending 2 days traveling it was nighttime. We had no problem finding the gate to the property, but after the walk to the cabin to get the keys from the lockbox the code would not open the lockbox. Right away we called the owner and she apologized that she hadn’t updated the code. We entered the new code and we were in. What a beautiful place and completely supplied. After we followed the written instructions to turn on the water(very detailed and simple). We prepared to turn in for the night. And what a cold night it was. Not being completely familiar with how the cabin is heated we were all cold. We realized it would have been better if we would have arrived earlier in the day. After the first night we were wondering if we had chose the wrong place to stay. That morning we started a fire in the wood stove and the cabin warmed up real nice. We learned how to keep the cabin nice and cozy from that moment on. The place is amazing with breathtaking views from the deck and through the huge windows. My wife, daughter, and 3 granddaughters enjoyed baking sugar cookies together for Christmas Day. We played in the snow a lot and had fun at the community park. We loved the secluded property and everything about the cabin. It definitely will be a Christmas to remember. Thanks Carole. P.S. The morning we left my wife and I were up at daylight and she captured the most magnificent photo of the sunrise we’ve ever seen.

Secluded mountain getaway!
Me and my husband stayed a few nights at the cabin while passing through early October 2020. It is as beautiful as the pictures! Few things to note - it takes 30 minutes to get to the closest city, so stock up on food before unless you want to venture out. Fairplay has a cool old town tour you can do, cost $10 and takes 1-2 hours. We drove Boreas pass from Como to Breckenridge - beautiful! If you're reading this review and debating on staying here... DO IT!

It's ALL about the View!
This is the place to stay for a wide open beautiful views! If you are looking for an experience to be able to hike right out the door this will meet all you expectations. I can not say the same for the house. The home needs to be updated, especially needs new bedding linens, towels and unfortunately when we stayed we didn't get the best cleaning crew. However, we were recompensated and was told the issue was due to not having the regular cleaning contractor available at the last minute. Also, please be prepared to drive pretty far off the main road to reach the property. That is how you are able to get close to being next to the BLM land so pretty much makes that worth the drive.

Quick Getaway
My wife, 5-yr old, and another adult couple stayed here for two night at the end of July 2020. The property is amazing, private, and clean. It's a short walk down the hill to a big, pristine creak with hiking options galore. The kitchen is well stocked, and so is the garage with plenty of things to borrow for outdoor activities - the owners are very generous in that regard. We would definitely stay again.
