It is build as part of an ancient courier station that has significant Chinese history. The park in the back lights up at night and provides a beautiful contrast with the bustling Suzhou. You get the same feel of the Venice-like town all to yourself. The hotel itself also has what you would expect of a 5star hotel with restaurants and various gyms/spa/family amenities. A must stay if you visit Suzhou!" I love the architecture inside. Staff were very attentive and welcoming especially to a westerner. I do speak Chinese so the staff really seemed eager to assist me on any of my needs. The staff was friendly and the amenities were nice. There was some wear and tear in my hotel suite which was kinda surprising to me. I would think they would replace or fix the furniture in the rooms that were worn. My room was nicely decorated for my birthday with a small cake and rose petals. There was also a nicely written card. The food and drinks in the Executive Lounge were deliciously. Especially the lamb chops that were freshly prepared. My main disappointment was not being able to have breakfast in the main dining area due to it being full and I had to go have breakfast in the Executive Lounge where the breakfast items are very limited.
