"Everything is excellent except for two things: 1) From the bus terminal it is a 5-10 minute uphill walk but with luggage it is much longer. It’d be great if the hotel can more clearly let guests know that they actually offer a complimentary minivan pick up service from the bus terminal; 2) We arrived two hours ahead of the 3pm check-in time, having asked for early check-in if possible, but reception sticks to the 3pm check-in time and a lineup of around 10 parties formed. Maybe this is the Japanese way of doing things? But allowing early check-in will relieve the lineup and make the guest experience so much better."

"Lovely onsen open long hours. A short walk (uphill) to the visitors center and base of the cable car up the mountain. Good food at the two onsite restaurants, though I far preferred the French restaurant to the Japanese style. Very laid back resort; pajamas provided and allowed to be worn throughout the resort including dinner. Self serve food and drinks in the lobby. There are some trails around the national park but not a lot to do outside at the resort itself."

"Cute little resort with a shuttle direct to the ski lifts and an outdoor onsen I wish I’d used more! The water temp was perfectly hot in the sub zero temps. I didn’t see any signs about tattoos not being allowed so I didn’t cover mine, but my friend and I also had it to ourselves the one time we went. "
