Golfers of all levels visit Kharghar Valley Golf Course to test their abilities on the fairways and greens. The picturesque course is one of the only golf clubs in the Mumbai region that is open to non-members. Play holes of differing degrees of difficulty and sign up for lessons with experienced golf coaches.
The nine holes were designed by Australian golf course designer Phil Ryan. They feature lush, tree-lined fairways, bunkers and greens with varied inclines, declines and tilts. Six artificial lakes present hazards while adding a scenic aesthetic to the course. The backdrop of the Kharghar Hills enhances the club’s picturesque setting.
Bring your own clubs, or rent a set from the club shop, pay the green fee and head straight to the first hole to begin your round. Caddies, electric golf carts and trolleys are also available to rent. First-time golfers can arrange for pay for a lesson with a professional coach. There is a driving range and practice holes, too.
Finish your visit at the club restaurant and fill up on buffet breakfasts and lunches featuring traditional Indian dishes. Non-players are welcome at the restaurant. Watch the action while sipping on a chai tea and admiring the encompassing hilly countryside.
The course is located adjacent to Central Park and in the center of Kharghar. If you are traveling with your own clubs then the easiest way to get here is by taxi or rented car. On-site parking is available for drivers. Otherwise the course is accessible by public buses.
Kharghar Valley Golf Course is open from Tuesday to Sunday. It will remain closed in the event of heavy rainfall. Plan your visit on a weekday to take advantage of cheaper green fees. Contact the club by telephone to make advance reservations.
