"We stayed from Friday to Monday. We did not have any service to the room. We asked a lady that was cleaning other rooms for more coffee and shampoo (empty container at the shower) amd she said it was not her room in her list. So, no towels, shampoo or coffee. Very disappointing. Other than that, it is a OK hotel."
Waterfront Cottage w Private Beach on Chesapeake Bay!

"We had a fabulous time at the cottage! It had everything you could possibly want to make your stay enjoyable and entertaining. We were there to rest & recuperate after some recent medical issues, so we didn't use any of the water/recreational equipment but it was available (hubby looked in the shed). Believe the extensive amenities listing -- Cheri was very accurate in listing what was provided and available for use.The photos posted of the cottage were also very accurate but they didn't convey how clean the cottage was (no inside bugs, even) and especially, the magnificent view. We were mesmerized by the view! Sitting in the great room, looking out of the windows, all we could see was water and sky. We felt like we were on a houseboat!At first, I didn't think I'd like being on the river side of Gwynn's instead of on the Bay side. Turns out, it was a plus. We didn't want to cook so it was really easy to get to the 2 island restaurants and to all the Mathews' restaurants.I also appreciated Cheri's helpfulness, hospitality and availability. I really enjoyed communicating with her. She made everything so easy for us and we'd love to return to the cottage again."

"The location is fantastic but we had a little bit of difficulty finding it in the dark. Google Maps took us to the wrong house, but Apple Maps got us there just fine. The view is amazing and we enjoyed getting in the water. The outdoor shower is a plus and the house was comfortable. Remember to bring towels and bed linens and memorize the door code- we locked ourselves out! Great recommendations from the owner about restaurants and things to do. We also really appreciated that we could bring our dog with us. Thank you!"

"Overall the property was very nice. But the cabin we stayed in had very small ants running around. Some of the staff was new and didn’t know some of the details, which is ok but you need to be patient."

"My family had a great stay! We were only in Mathew's for a weekend but we loved the area and Kim and Mary's space. We had plenty of space to relax when we weren't out and about, inside and out. The outdoor patio and dock were so nice with the shade and breeze coming off the river. Inside, the beds were comfy and we had even more "extras" than we needed. The kitchen and fridge was well stocked with complimentary snacks, breakfast supplies and options for a quick meal. We spent extra time at the house enjoying the pool table which my son LOVED. Kim and Mary were very attentive and even though we didn't need anything extra were just a quick message away. Can't wait to come back again!"

"All and all it was a great girls weekend. The place was really cute and the view was spectacular. We loved the hot tub and ammenties, however there are a few things that could be improved upon.Upon arriving, the chemical smell from whatever cleaner was used was overwhelming. There are no screens in the doors or windows so we couldn't open doors or windows to air it out. With that being said we did arrive about 2 hours early so maybe the smell would have dissipated by 4.The amenities were great however to start a fire we needed to buy lighter fluid because there was a drop left, to use the hot tub which per the instructions required adding bleach, there was only a drop of that left. We were 4 girls and by the second day we had to buy more toilet paper, because there were only 3 partial or small rolls. We had to buy paper towels. We used the last dishwasher pod and the last trash bag. Lucky I have walmart plus and they delivered. For the price we feel like those essentials should have been stocked. Some of the instructions could have been more clear. There were not clear instructions how to get into the pool. We didnt know we needed a key, where the key was. Then the key was not where is was suposed to be after we asked. The pool gate was another challenge. The lock is hidden under the top part of the gate, it took us 10 minutes to find the lock. The pool was fantastic though when we did get in"
