This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The small deck had a great view of the sound and comfortable Adirondack chairs for relaxing. We used the pickleball court which was in pretty good shape in comparison to other places we've stayed. Everything was clean and the place felt like home. We thoroughly enjoyed Duck being a bike ride away, though getting back up the hill to the condo was quite the workout. The view of the sound was beautiful and I highly recommend walking down to the pier to take in a sunset or two. The beach is within walking distance (took us about 10 mins with a wagon full of stuff) and there is also a public access point with a parking lot a few streets down. The community tennis court and the indoor pool were big hits with my crew also. Our hosts were quick to respond and answered all of our questions. Everything within it really was just renovated and is pretty much brand new, from the kitchen to the beds. There is a beautiful view of the sound and the complex was very quiet. The owners were very responsive and easy to deal with and this couldn't have gone any easier. Would recommend for someone looking for a 2 bedroom option in Duck. ##### Steven H.
