Kiwengwa is like Little Italy and has been for some decades. The beach is a bit more crowded than others further north. If you want a place with a little nightlife, Kiwengwa is your spot.
Kiwengwa is definitely a lively beach scene with no shortage of resort hotels. If you're interested in nightlife and kiting, you will like this spot. There is a heavy Italian influence that has been present for quite some time.
No swimming at low tide - have to walk out to the reef to swim/snorkle. Water can often be murky.
Had lunch at the Essence Hotel.. excellent food, pleasant atmosphere on beach, felt very safe.
