"One of the best family and regional small hotel we have visited in 20 years in Crete. They really are very small hotel, familial style but they do their best to provide high level services: multiple pool, breakfast, sun towels. Amazing quality for price. I rarely write reviews but their work needs to be recognized. The only con of this hotel, despite what is written on Hotels.com, it's very remote in the moutain and far from Paleochora, so I recommend if you need to rest 2-3 days in a super...

"Highly recommend staying at Alcanea. Eva, our host, was incredibly helpful and friendly. The staff/service was great. And the complimentary breakfast offered lots of local options and all were delicious. Best part of this stay was the view and location. The view of the port was awesome with the water, local bars/shops, and mountains in the distance. And there were dozens of restaurants and shops offering all we might need/want. This hotel made Chania feel like home."

10/10 Excellent

"Clean room with incredible view. All the staff were lovely"

SanSal Boutique Hotel – Adults & Children 11+

8/10 Good

Aulus Chania All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"We had a king suite which was stunning and had everything we needed. The food was very high quality and tasty. Unfortunately though the resort started shutting down in our last few days. No draft beer available in the evening, only bottles. I asked for 5 different cocktails one day at the pool bar and each could not be made as they were missing a key ingredient. The night before there were no cocktails at the bar because they had no shaker?! A member of staff told us they would send someone to the restaurant to get us our preferred drinks but I didn’t want to feel like an inconvenience!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Limni?

The best area to stay in Limni is directly in the village center, particularly along the waterfront promenade.

This area is the heart of Limni, offering direct access to the sea and the village's main amenities. You'll find a collection of tavernas, cafes, and local shops lining the promenade, which is a pleasant place for an evening stroll. The small harbor is also located here, providing a picturesque setting.

Couples looking for a relaxing and authentic Greek experience will find this area ideal. The proximity to the waterfront means serene views and easy access to local dining. It's a convenient hub for exploring the quieter side of Crete.

For travelers seeking a more secluded and private experience, consider accommodations slightly set back from the main promenade, perhaps on the hillsides overlooking the village.

When is the best time to go to Limni?

The best time to go to Limni is during the shoulder seasons of late April to early June and September to October.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm, ideal for outdoor activities like hiking or exploring the nearby villages and beaches, without the intense heat or crowds of mid-summer. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the local tavernas and shops are fully operational.

Couples seeking a relaxed getaway will appreciate the tranquility of Limni during these months. The absence of large crowds allows for a more intimate experience, whether you're enjoying a meal by the water or exploring the quiet streets.

For solo travelers looking for mild weather and a calm environment, these shoulder seasons offer the superb balance.
