“Location was good, looked forward to it. But the place was completely unacceptable. Everything was filthy. No dish towels to contemplate cleaning the dirty dishes. That didn't matter much, the fridge wouldn't cool anything. Sinks were filthy. Shower area filthy. Weird electrical buzzing noise. Air conditioning was useless. Doesn't matter, the second bed in the main living area was impossible to even attempt to cool as there was no way to close the windows completely in all but the bedroom. There……

“Baliyana Lodge is a slice of paradise - beautifully landscaped grounds among the native trees on a hillside overlooking a valley towards the ocean. Remote but only 15 mins to the beach and 25 mins to Tamarindo. The hosts could not have been nicer, wonderful, healthy breakfast included, quiet, peaceful and serene location. The three cozy bungalows are comfortably appointed with understated elegance and simple luxury. A/C, awesome tile shower with great water pressure, plenty of shelving, nice……

“This was the perfect place to unplug and chill. Doris and Johnny did an excellent job of creating a cozy oasis. It was the perfect balance of private space to do our thing, and common space by the pool to connect with other guests when we wanted. Doris is delightful and answered any and all questions we had, accommodating our every need. The location was fabulous...in walking distance to several restaurants, and a magical mangrove leading to the beach. We are already making plans to stay……

“Loved loved loved. This hotel is a small family owned property. The family is kind and helpful. They were attentive to our every need. When we arrived we had ants, but they quickly took care of it. The place is super cute and close to everything I could possibly need. A short walk to the beach and lots of places to eat. I would stay here again. Bonus: we had a cat on our patio the three days we were there. She is super sweet and wonderful.”
