"The stay at Couscous was absolutely spot on! Beautiful glamping resort in the quiet town of Manazuru. It has good connection links to the main station if odawara. Perfect for exploring the Hakone region of Japan. The tents were very well equipt with fans, heating, usb's. Outside there was incredible decking areas with BBQs, and a large table and chairs. The site itself was extremely clean and the toilet and shower areas were always spotless and very modern. Overall I would 100% recommend this...

"This picture and the place have no connection. This is the picture of the nearby beach. The hotel is not located here. It's about a few minutes walk from the beach. It's better to put a real picture of the hotel. Also, the hotel does not have an elevator and the entrance is narrow. It's difficult to carry bags to the 4th floor without an elevator. Also no facilities for keeping your baggage. You need to pay coin lockers"

"Fairly quiet end Mid April. Couldn’t figure out where the light switch for one of the lights and staff isn’t always around even during the day so it’s a bit tricky to get help. Almost everything is self served which is great but if you need help then it gets a bit tedious. Facilities are great and the location is also very convenient. Quiet, clean, and spacious. I was on the fourth floor and there was no escalator. Fortunately I travelled pretty light. If you are disabled or has lots of luggage...

"Exceptional traditional ryokan if you want to relax in Hakone & Yugawara! The thoughtfulness and service of the staff was wonderful in every aspect. "We Americans stayed here for 2 nights. Highly recommended. Great cultural experience for those looking for an authentic ryokan in an older style building with communal bathing facilities. Japanese breakfast was really fun but I had little idea what I was eating. Go with an open mind! I was glad there were a couple of very helpful staff who spoke some English. Otherwise, it looked like all local Japanese guests there!"

"Million dollar view, but need some updates. Peeling wallpaper, stained doors, etc. No warm running water in room, have to travel to basement for shower. Very easy to hear those in hallways and next to you. Bedding and room itself was very clean. Just needs a few adjustments and would be an amazing traditional spot in a quiet town. "
