Three floors of privacy in the jungle. The TreeTop House Getaway is one of the oldest buildings in the area, a historic, artist-designed house in the quiet Quaker community of Monteverde, set in the Cloud Forest above Santa Elena and only minutes from town. Built on a solid steel frame, it has stood safely through many windy seasons.

Two couples get real privacy here: each has its own level, and there are two showers plus an extra toilet, so no queuing in the morning. A small family gets an adventure: winding wooden stairs, little rooms full of corners, a hammock, and windows looking out into the green forest. It feels a bit like Robinson Crusoe built it, and Pippi Longstocking would move in at once.

Watch toucans and hummingbirds from the terrace over breakfast, listen to the forest at night, and walk to the reserves, waterfalls and restaurants of Monteverde. The house is rustic and full of character, with almond-wood floors and eclectic art.
