It was a 2 star hotel but honestly it was very cute and clean. Simple walk to the beach and they had beach wagons to rent if you needed on a first come first serve basis. Staff was super helpful and very friendly! Was in a great location with shops and food close.

Very friendly people at the front desk. Nice location for walking to a few restaurants that are really great and coffee shop as well! Has a rinse station/shower so you don't have to wait your turn in line at the one at the beach. It is not exactly beachfront, but it is a quick walk to the beach access which is right next to Surf's Up Grill. We enjoyed our stay!

Great hotel for the area and price. Staff was friendly. The room itself was a little rough. There was stains on the bedding, a hole in the bathroom wall, a hole in the ceiling, the standing shower wasn't sealed correctly so the bathroom would flood every time we showered. We wouldn't stay there again.

Room was clean, large, very near the beach/pier. It just needed a bit of updating. Several bathroom tiles were cracked and the shower curtain needed replacement. Fridge and microwave were nice amenities and I have to say, there were a lot of electrical outlets which was great. The only con: previous room renters left items behind in the nightstand drawer that we didn’t find until we were looking through drawers as we were leaving—should’ve been found by maintenance staff before the room was given to us.

The air conditioning could use updating as it is a little noisy but overall this is a great place to stay. It’s very convenient to the beach and pier as well as great food. There’s shops including beachwear, ice cream and restaurants in walking distance. I would stay again.

Upon checking out, I let the staff know the tub was clogged and did not drain. The refrigerator. Freezer portion was caked with ice and the front door was difficult to open due to the moisture from the beach. I was told they would certainly look into those things, the staff was very friendly.

I liked the closeness to restaurants and the Bogue Inlet Pier. This was the main reason for the stay was for fishing. Only negative was the 1 hour delay to get in my room for check-in. The stated time was 3pm and I didn't get in until a little after 4pm.

⭐⭐☆☆☆ Oceanview Inn — it’s everything you’d expect from a two-star hotel: a short walk to the beach and pier, and a friendly staff doing the best they can with the resources they have. The room had a nostalgic charm that made me wonder if I’d accidentally booked a stay in 1997. The air conditioner sounded like it was preparing for liftoff, and the mattress gave my chiropractor future job security. The biggest surprise? Both of my kids now have a crystal-clear understanding of what a two-star hotel really is. Consider it an educational experience they weren’t expecting. To be fair, the location is fantastic. You’re close enough to the beach that you can escape the hotel before spending too much time inspecting the décor. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and it was obvious they were doing the best they could with the resources they had. If your plan is to spend all day at the beach, need an inexpensive place to sleep, and enjoy coming home with stories that get funnier every time you tell them, this place gets the job done. If you’re looking for standards, you’ll want to keep driving. Would I stay again? Let’s just say my kids now ask, “How many stars is the hotel?” before we book.
