Esiweni Luxury Safari Lodge

Esiweni Luxury Safari Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"Wow. Just wow. My wife and I spent three nights at Esiweni and it exceeded every expectation we had. I had been on safari once before, and it honestly paled in comparison to this experience. The lodge itself is stunning. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Sundays River, it’s one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. Nambiti Private Game Reserve is the perfect size. It feels wild and untouched. but it’s not so massive that you’re driving for hours without seeing anything. We saw elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, and so much more. Every game drive felt different. What made this trip so special were the people. Pemba was our ranger for our twice daily game drives and was the highlight of our stay. He is knowledgeable, kind, funny, and simply a joy to spend time with. By the end of three days, it felt like we were out with family rather than a guide. Sophie and Vic, the owners, welcomed us like old friends. You can tell they love what they do, and that warmth carries through the entire lodge. Myriam was always attentive and pleasant, and Chef Nandi created unforgettable meals. The menu leans French, every dish was fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious. They also surprised us with a few thoughtful touches that made the trip even more memorable. We left talking about when we could come back. If you’re considering a safari, I can’t recommend Esiweni enough. Luxury without feeling pretentious. We will absolutely be back. Thank you all!."

"The resort was a dream location, well kept and maintained. all the staff were excellent and professional in their attention to our needs during our stay. I cannot fault them at all. Their guides are excellent and very knowledgable fo the battlefield sites and the history of the Zulu war. I would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to visit the area 100%. Special thank to Bryan who led our battlefield tours to Rourke’s drift and Isandlwana, he is very very capable and a great tour host. "
