Room was clean with a modern bathroom and comfortable.
We didn't spend time in the hotel bar or restaurant but did have a drink outside where there were some tables for diners. Service was fine, but when we got up to leave the next morning the reception and bar area were all locked up (8:30am). In the end I had to call the hotel to find out how to check out and was told to just leave the key in the room and go. This wasn't really an issue for us, but it would have been better to be told of these arrangements in advance.
We were only passing through Thetford and stayed on the way to an event the next day and it was fine for that, but Thetford itself was very disappointing to walk around. Not much there, no real restaurants and just run down pubs and cheap shops. Having previously stayed at Bury St Edmonds, the two feel worlds apart...
As a place for a one night stop over it was perfectly fine but better towns are close by...
