"Solar da Capela is very clean hospitable family hotel. They went out of their way to assist. We came to Sao Padro de Sul mainly for Thermal pools. We went to many places where we enjoyed thermal pools for a whole day, but this place only allow one hour at high price. This kills small hotel business. One member of staff stood out as being excellent and speaking English, we believe his name is Marco or Mario. This hotel could be so much more popular if it were to focus on a specific market. The decor is 50's period but this could add to its charm. It has all the facilities you could want, but would be difficult for disabled people."

"Wonderful boutique hotel in a quieter area of Viseu surrounded by water fountains, a lovely church and a simply wonderful park with an abundance of wildlife. Great selection of close restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Vintage restaurant just a 2 minute walk. The owner is a real charmer.

"The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. One doesn’t expecy 5 star luxury at a hostel, but overall it's very serviceable. We happened to arrive on the hottest day of the year and discovered there was no air-conditioning (pas de climatisation). Other than that inconvenience, everything was fine. Nice breakfast, and again, wonderful staff hosts."
