It's a flat, bumpy 1/2 mile. The hotel is well located near the town's center, across the street from a small public swimming beach. There was a transportation strike going on in Athens, so the ferries were off schedule, which disrupted our travels also. Caterina at Play Paros was a huge help in reorganizing our lodging so we could stay an extra night until the strike crap was over. FYI--we lost hundreds of dollars because of the transportation strikes that occurred while we were in Greece. In 3 weeks there were 2 strikes causing us to miss reservations and excursions with NO refunds because of short notice. I guess buy travel insurance or expect to lose money in Greece. Anyway, Caterina was great, she personally met us for a late check-in, the room was clean and quiet even though the street is busy. Location was great. Cons: Our balcony faced a vacant parking lot, the swimming pool is beautiful but unheated, so not warm enough to get into in October. L’hotel si trova in una posizione molto tranquilla vicina a ristoranti, negozi e a soli 10 minuti di camminata dal porto e dal centro di Parikia. Camera sempre pulita con cambio giornaliero di asciugamani. Lo staff dell’hotel Johanna, Noemi, Maria e Caterina sono davvero fantastiche , gentilissime e sempre molto disponibili a dare consigli e preziosi suggerimenti sui luoghi da visitare. Cosa dire di più? The property has a pleasant staff which were very helpful and informative. The room was a bit smaller than expected and would be a good fit for 1 big luggage. It's a small walk from the Port so it was easy to get to without using a taxi (and circumventing the insane traffic at the Port when the ferries come). Lots of restaurants and stores nearby, we also had a pool view below and it was pretty quiet with some people only lounging by and reading. It was also very convenient to not have to use a key, but they give you a code to get into the property and to get into the room. The sunsets in the evening were beautiful. The hotel seems to have been recently updated to modernize the space, but it gives off more of a hostel feel than a hotel even though all rooms are private with en suite bathrooms. The staff was absolutely wonderful - friendly, warm and accommodating. Katerina was a wonderful host helping us to select dinner options and letting me borrow an iron when needed before dinner.
