It was exactly what we needed to have a nice place to enjoy between our travels. The room was clean & tidy updated inside compared to the outside looks run down but got inside & were berry pleased we had a very nice room was great. Staff excellent, we showed up after work hours & called number on door to a very pleasant woman greeted us few minuits later & checked us in. Was a good stay we enjoyed it.

There are 3 Dolans in town, this one is a 50s style hiway motel. Other 2 are right in the village. Looks like they are upgrading. Room very clean. Hot water was weird, tried br sink, then shower, then kitchen where hot showed up, after which hot worked in br too. No blow dryer.

We especially liked the ceramic flooring. ( rugs never feel clean). The kitchen unit in a motel was a plus and the bathroom updated. What else, the beds comfy and decor pleasant. We liked being close to town and local beaches. No nonsense. Says my son , well set up! Thank you . H Coulombe Ottawa

Our room was very spacious and newly renovated. All of the amenities were on the high end. It’s that time of year when duvets should be on the beds so it was definitely chilly with the heat not yet in operation. We were given a plush clean blanket and that did the trick. They are in the midst of renovating other rooms but the noise didn’t bother us as we were on the opposite side. We booked an additional night while we were there. Heather, the front desk lady was very pleasant and accommodating as was her associate. It’s location is great too, just a hop, skip and jump to take out restaurants and Sobey’s grocery store. Close proximity to beaches too. The outside of the units needs some updates, paint, clean-up of walkways from fallen leaves and looks somewhat sketchy from the outside but the inside tells a different story. We would definitely book here again and recommend it.

Upon arrival I was a dubious. But the ladies were exceptional and made sure we were comfortable. The room was super clean and the beds were comfortable and cozy clean ! All kitchenette items functional. Would highly recommend! Thanks Ladies !

The size of the room was fine. Good size fridge. too. However: The pillows on the sofa bed felt moist. The WiFi didn’t work at all! The bed was lumpy and the shower was not clean (and old band-aid and mildew) The best thing was that we could park right outside the door.

A lovely stay at this Motel. Good price!Room was very clean and modern. Comfortable beds, good shower, very quiet and very clean. Nice to have a small kitchenette with toaster, coffee maker, microwave, small fridge, sink and some dishes. We quite enjoyed our stay!

We are familiar with the town of Pictou and love visiting there but when we arrived, we expected to be staying at an inn with suites (which is what Expedia stated) but it was actually a motel. Apparently four or five accommodation properties in Pictou are under the business heading Dolan’s Inn and Suites, which was confusing and caused us to question. The other properties appeared updated, at least from the outside, but our initial reaction as we arrived at the motel was that it needed quite a bit of TLC! The parking lot is unpaved and unkept, the motel sign at the entrance was faded and sitting among weeds which should have been flowers in the box and S ome of the railings, especially getting to the office, were unpainted and even showing signs of rot. The lady who welcomed us was lovely and friendly, but appeared to have a lot on her plate. We checked our room for cleanliness…it smelled fresh, and the linen/beds were nicely made and comfortable. In all fairness, it was quite evident that efforts were/are ongoing to modernize the rooms (which we think is a work in progress). There was lots of hot water for showers, seating room around a little table (but the patio chairs had seen better days), and there was a bar fridge in a small kitchen area that supplied dishes, utensils, toaster, kettle, etc. We would have enjoyed a morning coffee but although there was a coffee maker, there wasn’t complimentary coffee, coffee mate, or sugar to go with it. The stay was just ok!

Although the exterior can be deceiving as it needs a little lipstick, the rooms were fantastic. Spacious, great amenities, newly renovated, fresh and clean. When we checked in they had everything ready for us so it was literally under a minute. The lady at the front desk was very kind.
