“Our family stayed here for a weekend fishing trip to Lake Cuyamaca (about a 10 minute drive from the cabin). It was absolutely beautiful and so tranquil. Our family had everything we could ask for in terms of supplies and “at home” comforts in the cabin. The host was great and very responsive. We especially enjoyed sitting out in the patio area with the old California oaks and the other pretty trees throughout the yard. Make sure you go out and drink in the starry skies at night, too. “The beds were comfortable. We loved the coziness and warmth of the fireplace. The stained glass windows are so pretty and the views are gorgeous. The cleaning crew could do a better job. There was a pull-out cutting board that hadn’t been cleaned prior to our arrival and water was pooled at the bottom of the fridge with pieces of food floating in it. We stayed for one week and there was only 1 roll of paper towels provided, 1 additional roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and no extra trash……

“Sweet cottage, perfect for our family of 4.Clean, nicely decorated, plenty of towels/blankets. Appliances look new. Didn’t do any cooking on this trip but kitchen looked well stocked with anything we would need. Cara was easy to communicate with. Check in was very easy. Good location near downtown.”

“It is a quaint little rustic cabin tucked away in the woods. The deck is lovely spot to spend a morning drinking some coffee and watching the variety of birds that fly by. I had an issue with my truck and was able to quickly communicate with John about staying an extra day and even getting to check out a little later, closer to when my truck would be fixed.Definitely recommend staying here!”

“As the description suggests, this is a tiny little house. Kitchen is good for pre-made food brought in to store and eat. Bed is comfy and the place had everything we needed for a couple of nights in Julian.”

“We had a great weekend celebrating my sisters 40th birthday. This house was was perfect. We loved everything about it, especially the big windows! We loved learning the story behind the home and the Littlehale family. It was the perfect get away. Would definitely stay at this home again in the future! ”

“I decided at the last minute to get away for four days to a VERY quiet place because my sweet, calm dog is terrified of fireworks: he trembled all night. Medicine from the vet last year didn’t help much at all. We didn’t hear a single firework at the Bungalow. It’s such a unique place; so much of the history has been carefully preserved. The great room is HUGE. Many large couches, lots of sitting chairs, several tables for generations of families or large groups. All modern kitchen appliances,……

Nearby hiking and activities were great. The wolf Conservatory, Lions Tigers and Bears, Lake Cuyamaca, and Julian were all visited and thoroughly enjoyed. Great spot for a weekend getaway!”

“As we pulled into the driveway of the A-Frame and saw the welcoming sign that said "You're Here!", snow began to dust my windshield. This quickly became a hailstorm which gave way to a heavy snowfall. Giant flakes fluttered to the ground as we explored our new digs and my kids and I quickly headed out to build a snowman, The retreat must be packed with renters in the warmer months. During our stay in early March, I think we saw three other people the entire time. That just enhanced the feeling……
