This house and it’s location is perfect for quick getaway for the weekend. Dan was a great host with quick communication on check in and any other questions we had. Very close to a few establishments all with great friendly locals. We will definitely be back.
We needed a place to stay as we relocated until our house closed that would also allow our pets. This place was very nice.Had a great view, nice little town and Dan,the host was very responsive, great host. The cabin itself met all of our needs for our 9 day stay.

The house was adorable. Felt like a river cabin but higher end. Loved the decor! It was well stocked with games to play and the huge window facing the lake was nice. The owner even had a Christmas tree and lights up! I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.
Great location, great communication! Clean, clean, clean! We enjoyed the house and Random Lake very much. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
Loved the openness and cleanliness of house! Everything you need to enjoy your stay is there for your use! We had a very rainy day one of the days, but the full view of lake even when raining was awesome! Great place, remodeling was beautiful!
This rental includes everything you needed for a fun weekend at the lake with our 3 sons! We made lots of memories! The host was very accommodating and we purchased delicious free range chicken eggs from them also.
Really enjoyed our stay at this tastefully refurbished cottage on Random Lake. View from the property was great. Nice beach very close. Nice small town with friendly people. Owner was very responsive to questions. Thanks Dan for making your property available. Would stay there again.
We loved the decor, the cleanliness, the location and everything else about this quaint little cottage. Dan was excellent at responding to us when we had a little problem with some bees. The home was fully stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable too and the grandkids loved the loft! I wish we could have stayed longer.
Our family had a great time. We took the the canoe and paddle boats to the beach. Grilled out dinner. Had fun playing games and also had a campfire. Nice quiet neighborhood. Thanks for everything.
Enjoyed our stay on Random Lake. The house has everything you need to enjoy your time. There are records, lots of interesting books, games, boats, bikes and more.
There is a nice view of the lake. The kitchen is well equipped (just no dishwasher). We enjoyed visiting Port Washington, Cedarburg and Sheboygan.
Had to come to town for my mom funeral. Dan was very kind and helpful. Even gifted discount as he knew my mom as teacher. Felt the love of small village community again. Great view of lake.
Nice place to relax and catch up with a valued friend.
My best friend and I went away for a girl’s trip. We enjoyed the solitude of the property. The kayaks and the front yard seating were two amenities we enjoyed. We enjoyed the layout and the cleanliness of the property. The kitchen was well stocked with basics which we appreciated. One improvement for future guests would be to ensure a bit more hot water for showers. Also, to figure out a better solution for the deadbolt. Overall, an excellent stay. Thank you to our host!
Our family really enjoyed this little gem of a place. The house was very well stocked with kitchen utensils, lots of towels, games, books, water fun items..Bought fresh eggs from Dan's son:)
Dan was great with communication, and gave us a schedule of what was going on in the little town. (being the 4th of July week)
Everyone was very friendly.
It was close to my daughter's house which was a plus for us.
I really wish there was a washer/dryer tho...that would have made everything perfect.
We will look forward to staying again.
Thank you so much.
We were visiting from Maryland and had a great time on the lake. We took advantage of the canoe, kayaks, and paddle boat. We caught some bluegill/sunfish from the pier, had a fire by the lake, and walked up to the community beach and swam. The home was very clean and updated. It should be noted there is a trap door in the floor outside the bathroom to access the downstairs and the laundry. The upstairs loft has a low ceiling (5 feet?) and is only accessed via pulldown stairs that partially block one of the bedroom doors when it is down. Thank you for a great vacation on the lake!
Everything in this updated cabin is carefully laid out to ensure an enjoyable stay. The kitchen is well stocked and organized with plenty of room for your own food/supplies. The bedrooms have ample closet and storage space and the bed was comfy. Plenty of towels in the bathroom and the shower was terrific!
In addition to spending time on the lake, we especially enjoyed playing some old LPs on the record player while looking out onto the water. Host Dan could not have been more helpful. He was communicative and very friendly.
The cabin was spotlessly clean and very charming. The guy who managed it also very responsive and nice. Overall we really enjoyed our stay (was in area for a wedding). However, the listing stated there was a washer and dryer and there wasn’t. The living room area had no lights, either ceiling or floor or table lights so in the evening about the only thing you could do seated in the living room is watch TV. Also, be sure to respect lake side property lines to the foot. There is a very good map posted on the fridge. The next door neighbor is …well…particular. I am also grateful that the owner allows dogs which is a big factor for us. Overall a very good place to stay

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
Beat the heat, jump into a matted pile of lake weeds
Me: What is the depth off the dock please? Is it weedy or can you swim off the dock?
Dan: The end of the dock is about 5 1/2 feet deep. My kids and I swim there all the time the left side of the pier is hard bottom isn’t super weedy, but there are some weeds. The right side of the pier is a little bit deeper and with a little more weeds. The beautiful thing is McDermitt park with the public beach and playground and park area is only a few blocks away.
Reality: All the edges of Random Lake that I saw were covered with heavy mats of weeds. No one in their right mind would swim off that dock. Hello swimmer's itch!
The cottage was super cute! My kids LOVED the book selection!! The loft was also another favorite! (There were some silly titles) We had zero issues with "the neighbor" but I could see him out making sure we stayed in our own area by the lake. The host was super flexible Answered all my questions.
The only complaint is that I had enquirers about the swim ability off the dock... it was described as "some weeds" I but that you could swim off the left side... that was not the case. There was no way anyone was swimming in there :( it was super weedy... you couldn't even see the bottom. I know lakes this year have been a little more weedy and more algae because of the mild winter but definitely need to swim at the beach if you don't like weeds...
The only complaint I would have is
Very nice renovated cottage with direct lake access!
This house was really tastefully renovated! The loft is really cool as long as you remember to duck under the ladder. It's the only VRBO on the street, so you're surrounded my stable residents who love lake life. You have bikes, kayaks, a canoe, a paddleboat, a fishing pier, some toys for young kids, and plenty of towels. Pro-tip: The washer/dryer is in the basement, which is only accessible by lifting a pretty heavy door in the floor. The owner is VERY attentive and friendly. The town is a sleepy, two-stop sign town, and what restaurants they have are pretty friendly! Burmesch's corner store is a must. Those men are the kinds of guys that you imagine with small-town charm. The bowling alley is cool too. The swim beach has music every Thursday night during the summer, and that's when you get to see all your friendly neighbors, eat good food, and shop for a few crafts.
Great times were had here! It's also quiet, so if you want to sit in the front or by the water and read, you can. (There's no fence in the back, so dog owners need to havre a leash)
