Aurum Retreat - Boutique Stay in Reefton's

  • Step through a red stained-glass door into a lovingly restored 1890s villa in the heart of Reefton, New Zealand's historic gold country. Wrap-around fretwork verandahs open onto one of the town's loveliest gardens, bursting with camellias each spring and summer. Inside, a crackling wood burner, soft green armchairs and a barista-grade coffee machine set the tone for slow mornings. Sleeps up to 6, just a short stroll to Broadway's cafes, shops and gold-rush heritage.

What a beautiful and relaxing stay! I’ve not been to such a pristine and well equipped place in a very long time, felt like home but nicer! :) Thoroughly enjoyed my time here and hope to return again with friends. Thanks so much!

We loved our stay at Aurum Retreat. A delightful cottage with a charming garden and plenty of thoughtful little touches. It rained the whole time we were there, but we stayed toasty in front of the fire. The kitchen was well equipped and it really felt like a home away from home. Perfect for families. We will be back (when it's less likely to rain!).
