I booked this place for my family and I to spend Christmas together and man, we were not disappointed! Beautiful views every where you looked and so incredibly cozy! The wrap around deck is lovely even in the winter and watching the wildlife all around was definitely a bonus. Only suggestion is to make sure you have decent tires if there is snow. The kitchen is lacking in basic equipment and the bathroom mats need to be cleaned. Actually the place could use a good cleaning! Communication with Piñon Ranch was less than pleasant. On Thursday we received a text asking if we would like to stay one more day, the property was available. We could stay at a 15% discount if booked directly thru them. The text stated we needed to call by 8am Friday. We called to confirm we would stay Thursday evening and spoke to Ian who said he would send the message we were staying and we should call in the morning when the office opened. Promptly at 8:00 am I called and left a message we were staying, and again at 8:30 did the same! We went off for the day and at 11:30am we got a call that we needed to vacate and we were told there is no Ian there. They proceeded to be rude and not at all concerned that we were out already and said we needed to get out because they rented the house. Excellent home base you can really just relax at. For the less mobile visitors, this is a great place to hang back and let time take its course. Bird life is abundant. View never gets dull. Back deck has some shade. Hot tub is a nice one. Only complaints are lack of shaded deck area and the need formore deck furniture. It is a huge deck and deserves to have a shaded sitting area. Beds were comfy and kitchen is well enough appointed.Some reviews say the space looks bigger than it is, but I would say the pics are perfectly honest. We never felt crowded and the space feels airy.
