We arrived and the hotel had cancelled our reservation. Our reservation said "you will pay at the hotel..." but the hotel tried to charge us in advance, my card was declined so they cancelled the reservation. They claim they have tried to contact me. I asked why they did not contact Hotels.com, who could have sent me an email, and they said hotels.com did not pick up the phone. So they just cancelled my reservation. They ended up placing me and my friend in a spare room, one bed. In addition to this cancellation surprise, the service is bad. We went for dinner, it was 9\. We ate our food and then we asked for dessert and they told us the kitchen had closed. The next morning we tried to have a coffee at 7.15 (all the coffee was already on the table), only a coffee, because we knew that breakfast starts at 7.30\. Mari, thoughtful and bi-lingual, helped us with a smile. The food was delicious and a basic breakfast was included. It's a gem in a beautiful place. Mama Ines is run by the Ines family. They are all hard working, nice, kind, beautiful people and genuinely have built a great place with their hands. The location is perfect, right on the beach. The food was tremendous (shrimp tacos my favorite). The rooms were clean and the area around them too. The view is great and I can't say enough how much we enjoyed this place and the family that runs it. Julio - you are fabulous. Maria Eugenia, you are beautiful and so helpful with everything. Thank you for our time spent there, we didn't want to leave. The room was clean with access to the patio which in turn takes you to the restaurant. The bathroom was a little bit dirty with some hairs in the shower floor. Also the shower head had half of the holes covered so it took a while to take a good shower. The restaurant/bar was a great place to hang out during the night with a good variety of beers and drinks. Overall it is a good place to stay if you want to go to a trip to Coiba and from what we heard it is also a great place for surfing. ##### Roberto Antonio
