Beautiful, Centrally Located, Design District Apartment by Lucky Savannah

This two bedroom, two bath apartment is centrally located on Whitaker Street. No matter which direction you set out in the morning, you’ll be just blocks away from all that Savannah has to offer.

When you open the front door, you're immediately greeted by a large and comfortable living area. You shouldn’t need a vacation from your vacation, so don’t feel bad about spending an evening in, curled up on this comfortable couch watching a show (or two!). Whether you’re enjoying coffee and breakfast at the kitchen counter breakfast bar, or dinner at the cozy dining table, the Eleanor has plenty of room for quality family time. At the end of the hall you’ll find a full bath and a Queen bed in the first bedroom. The Primary Suite has a king bed and renovated full bath.

When you’re ready to start your day, just cross the street to tour St. John’s Episcopal Church, known for its melodious chimes and magnificent stained glass windows. In 1942, St. John’s the Green-Meldrim House, one of Savannah’s finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture. During the Civil War, General Sherman occupied the Green-Meldrim House and penned his famous telegram to President Lincoln, presenting the city of Savannah as a Christmas present.

Charming, great location

We were charmed by this historic property right from the front iron gate. It was very comfortable for a mother / daughter weekend. We were far enough from the main touristy center for peace and quiet, but close enough to easily walk there. This place had everything we needed!

Great location and lots of charm. Was clean and easy to find. Parking was an issue at first so I ended up returning my rental car. The location was so walkable, I didn’t need it. I booked this place as a chef because of the kitchen honestly. It was a little disappointing that it isn’t stocked with basic necessities like salt and pepper but if you’re planning on eating out that’s not an issue. My only complaint was the pillows. There were plenty but that’s how many it took to be comfortable because they were all pretty limp and sad.

Great location, cute spot!

Ideal location -- very close (short walk) to lots of great restaurants and shopping. Felt safe, and the management company was responsive. Very clear check in and check out processes. There are 2 full baths (the online listing says there are less, but management confirmed the accurate information)!

Absolute gem!

We can't say enough great things about our stay at the Eleanor! This apartment was immaculately clean, the perfect amount of vintage with modern updates, and the location was perfect. We could walk literally everywhere, parking was a breeze at the nearby parking garage, and we felt very safe in the area. My friend and I have already said when we return to Savannah for our next trip, we want to stay here again.

Savannah Spring Break

Overall older but nice property. Plenty of space and comfortable bedrooms. Crazy loud in the living room from street traffic and people walking by. You will think people talking on the street are literally inside the apartment and when buses go by you will not be able to hear anything else. Good location and easily walkable to everything. Parking can be an issue as it’s street parking only.

Perfect location

The property is ideally located. Don’t bother renting a car! Anything you might need is a short walk away. Parker’s confidence store is near by and has the basics: eggs, milk, fresh bread, etc. for any meals you may choose to make in the well stocked kitchen apartment but with so many great restaurants in the area, you might not do any cooking!

Lovely property

We reallt enjoyed our stay at the Eleanor. The beds were quite comfortable, however the comfort of the couch and chairs in the living room was not as good. They could stand to be replaced. The kitchen was outfitted well, worth the exception of coffee cups. We had 3 in our party and there were obly 2 coffee mugs.. parking was not as easy as we hoped it would be. We ended up parking in the ramp, which was more expensive.

Here’s to the Eleanor!

Great location steps from historic Jones Street and boutiques and coffee shops. Great living area with every detail carefully and thoughtfully curated down to art on the walls. Bedrooms are in the back of the house so street noise was not a problem. Just to clarify that this is obviously an historic home but the description of bathrooms is a bit misleading. The queen bedroom’s bath is in the hall and there are no dressers or closets in that room. Not easy to see that detail in the posting photos. There is a small shelving unit and a towel bar with a few hangers but for two people there really wasn’t a lot of space for coats and shoes and clothing for the long weekend.

A large chair in the living room , made of fabric , had some little pieces of material coming thru the fabric that literally would stick you in the back from being so worn. Baseboards looks pretty beat up and could use a paint job. Master bedroom door knob kept falling off.I must say, though, the place was clean and immaculate , And is probably the most well equipped kitchen, we have ever been in.

Anita's Deli is also close by - order some sandwiches for your walk through the historic district.You can't go wrong at The Eleanor.

Annoying because the guest staying above our apartment had a dog and we could hear its nails as it walked on the wooden floor. Annoying because we could hear the person/people above us speaking and dropping what sounded like heavy items on the floor later in the evening. And, annoying because there weren't any hand towels in the bathrooms so we had to find a store to buy several. Nothing earth-shattering but will not be staying at the Eleanor again.
