"Lots of thoughtful touches. Well appointed room, jasmine tea leaves with a tea service in the room. Extensive personal breakfast, with good coffee and choice of Western or Chinese option. Great location in the middle of ancient city - everything is happening outside your doors and yet peaceful courtyard. Free Pickup and drop off from train station was a nice service with courteous attention. Overall well run hotel and well appointed. Parting gift of intricately paper cut motifs.’"

"The hotel is a wonderful combination of new and ancient. The courtyards have the feel of an ancient China with beautiful bonsai. The restaurant served fresh and tasty dishes. I highly recommend the hotel. I also highly recommend to visit Pingyao."

"This is by far the BEST hotel we've stayed in in Datong and in China! Its also the BEST Holiday Inn as well. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The room very confortable and accessible.. Quite hotel too... we stayed a week and slept so well. Its easy to catch and Uber or walk around the neighborhood. Safe and clean area as well, but then most if not all China, is safe. The breakfast Buffet has to be the best ever! So many choices to choose from! We would definitely stay here again and probably will on our next trip to Datong!"

"We found the hotel to have a lovely traditional atmosphere, the rooms were large, with many traditional features, we had Chinese breakfast that was interesting. Misha welcomed us and was extremely helpful, we had free tea, we were picked up and dropped off at the station, we loved her! And she spoke very good English! Lovely experience, we were very happy and impressed with it"
