If you've experienced Minnesota's North Shore, you know the secret beauty that awaits. From hiking, skiing and the famous Gitchi-Gami Bike Trail, the only challenge is deciding what do first...that is, if you can peel yourself away from the private beach and your cup of coffee.

This place was by far the best place we ever had up North. Secluded but not isolated, you feel like at the tip end end of the Northshore! Close to Gooseberry and the lighthouse, few miles away from our favorite pie place, stunning view, awesome beach, fire on the beach, beautiful wooden house, fully equipped. And last but not the least: flawless communication with the manager. Our visiting family was so amazed, and we are greatful to have found this gem. Hope to go back again😀

My Mom loves the North Shore. We all do. It was perfect for us! We had a beautiful view of a very private cove. Would be amazing and lovely in the summer. Very neat and clean and lots of kitchen accessories, pans, dishes etc.. We will hopefully get to come back again. Thank you for the great vacation!

Our favorite place to stay on the North Shore
We've taken many trips and stayed at many places on the North Shore, but Black Beach is our favorite. We've stayed here multiple times. Beautiful location and perfectly spaced close to so many adventures.

Blackbeach is an amazing North Shore retreat
My husband and 3 kids (ages 8, 11, and 13) stayed here as part of a longer trip to the Upper Midwest. After staying at Blackbeach, we all agreed we wanted more time to spend there! The cabin is extremely well appointed and has even better views. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to make all our meals. The cabin was well stocked with games for us to play and the kids enjoyed playing them on the porch area. We loved relaxing on the beach. There was a great shaded area where my husband and I sat and read while the younger kids looked for lake glass. We could have done that for several days! The house also has a separate garage which was helpful-we put our van in there during a storm that was forecasted to possibly have large hail. Adam was extremely responsive and well prepared. He was an extremely good host. My only complaint is that the house lighting seemed a little dim in places. The master shower was very dark. Additionally, on the evening with the storm, the kids were playing a game in the family room and it was almost hard to see due to the low lighting. Otherwise, we have no complaints! We just wish we had more time! Thank you for this amazing retreat!

We had a wonderful long weekend with our best friends. We come to the North Shore every January and we’re so glad we were able to stay at Black Beach Cove. There was plenty of room and we loved the feel of the cozy cabin. We enjoyed fires in the wood burning fireplace and the view from each room was amazing. The private beach was beautiful and we appreciated that the cabin was within quick driving distance to so many parks/trails to explore. The cabin had everything we needed including snuggly blankets and games to play. We hope to return in the future.

Birthday Getaway
This property is even more stunning than the pictures show it to be. It is the perfect traditional cabin getaway but has all modern amenities. The kitchen was wonderful for family meals, and the house is perched right next to the beach and you can hear the waves from the porch. It felt very private, yet it was incredibly accessible. Love the location so close to Split Rock and the state parks. The host was incredibly accessible and very kind. We were bummed to have to leave a night early due to a big winter storm. We left because of road conditions in souther Minnesota that would be on our drive, but the host was very reassuring of the wonderful snow services they have for the house if we had wanted to stay. We will definitely be returning.

20th Anniversary get away
This property is extremely cozy and right on Lake Superior. Ten or fifteen steps and your right on the beautiful black sand beach. We chose this property to spend our 20th anniversary at. Although our trip was cut a little short due to weather we will definitely be back to stay again. The garage however is not right next to the cabin, it’s about halfway up the hill that is the driveway to the highway. It should be noted that the driveway is at a decent grade up to the highway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return!

Great place and location
The property and cabin are just as advertised. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds/linens were comfortable and all mechanicals worked as expected. Our family loved our time here. Our children are more indoor kids but here, they couldn't spend enough time on the beach, exploring, agate hunting and enjoying campfires. It's nice to be so close to town and groceries as we had to make a few runs. The owners were great and communicative. We hope to stay here again soon.

Charming cabin!
Beautiful northwoods cabin with modern amenities. Spacious rooms, lots of light, and a private beach that looks fantastic. We didn't get down to the beach at our age, but we knew that would probably be the case. when we rented it. Still enjoyed the big deck and the wonderful location close to everything. Oops, I forgot the very comfy beds!

Absolutely LOVED the cabin! Perfect location for visiting all the state parks on the North shore, but plenty close enough to Duluth to visit the sites there. We especially enjoyed the fireplace, especially on cool nights. Great, responsive host.

We had a great time at this cabin! It was very quiet even though it's right off of the main highway. My nephew had a great time at the beach digging in the sand and looking for agates.. The owner reached out to me by email and text before our stay to make sure I'd be able to get ahold of him if we needed anything.

A Superior Stay on the North Shore
Our family of four (two adults, 3 yo, 12 yo) had a great time at Black Beach. Adam’s house is lovely and has everything you need — minus groceries and bug spray! We loved exploring the beach and listening to the lake and birds. Some of our favorite attractions included Palisade Head and Iona’s Pink Beach. Highly recommend picking up a growler from Castle Danger Brewery and a take and bake pizza from Northshore Pizza in Two Harbors along with some phenomenal pies from Betty’s to bring back to the cabin — the views and service can’t be beat. We look forward to coming back soon!

Black beach Cabin is a beautiful, warm, comfortable place to come and renew your spirits! The views of the moon and sunrise reflecting on the water are mesmerizing. The Cabin is spacious with welcoming places to sit, talk and enjoy the fireplace. The large, efficient, kitchen has great appliances and everything a cook could ask for. Conveniently located next to three state parks, gorgeous hiking, skiing, and snowshoe trails abound. There is not a better place on the North Shore!
