Mitt fasta tillhåll i Söderhamn Jag bor på hotell mer eller mindre konstant, jobbet kräver det, och Centralhotellet har blivit mitt självklara val i Söderhamn. Varje gång väljer jag det aktivt. Låt dig inte luras av fasaden. Den är, milt uttryckt, ganska risig, och första gången drog jag nog en suck. Men kontrasten mot insidan är total. I samma sekund man kliver in är allt fräscht, varmt och pinfärskt – rum i toppskick, sängar man inte vill kliva ur och badrum som glänser. All kärlek är lagd på insidan istället för på fasaden för syns skull. Det som betyder mest för mig är luftkvaliteten. Som van hotellgäst har jag bott på alldeles för många ställen där instängd luft och dåligt vädrade sängkläder fått mig att vakna täppt och snuvig. Inte här. Jag vaknar utvilad och frisk, andas ren luft och sover i fräscha sängkläder – det är hela skillnaden. Restaurangen ska också ha sitt erkännande. Fantastiskt vällagad, jättegod mat i en mysig miljö där jag gärna blir sittande långt efter att tallriken är tom. Men det är personalen som gör att jag känner mig hemma. Äkta värme istället för inövad service, ett leende som når ögonen och en känsla för när man vill prata och när man vill ha sin ro. Något väldigt få hotell lyckas med. Mitt råd: döm inte stället efter fasaden. Kliv in, beställ en middag och förstå varför jag fortsätter komma tillbaka.
