Stayed two nights with 8 friends for a ladies weekend and had a wonderful experience. The house is situated beautifully, well equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen, and had extremely comfortable beds. We loved being so close to the Old Rag trailhead, and also got to enjoy the local area as well. Elena (host) was extremely responsive and accommodating. Close to vineyards and quaint villages with great restaurants, however the best thing about it is its proximity to the Old Rag Mountain trailhead. If you're planning to do that hike, this home is just a short walk to the trailhead so you won't have to worry about the parking issues, and after the hike, the hot tub on the home's deck is heavenly! About 20 minutes from Sperryville, then another 20 or so to Skyline Drive to see the rest of the park. Our group loved the outdoor ping pong, fire pit, and hot tub. The skys are full of stars, each evening here was an enjoyable and relaxing time. Inside sleeps a large group very comfortably, large kitchen and 2 showers with good hot water. The main TV room was perfect for watching football. It's in a perfect spot for exploring Shenandoah National Park, and a short walk to some of the most scenic trailheads in the area. Recently renovated, including high end cookware and a new hot tub (!). Good internet connection that allowed one of our party to work remotely during our visit. The house is on a gorgeous farm property with wonderful views of the sky and the countryside. Elena was an outstanding communicator, and was available before and during our stay to make sure everything went smoothly. The hosts provided an excellent guidebook and materials with very clear info about the property and details on sights in the area. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The location is a bit remote. If you need a lot of outside entertainment, this might not be for you. But if you value a great clean space with awesome kitchen, location near the Shenandoah Park, with fun games inside and out, you will not be disappointed. My adult kids in particular were excited to find several games they enjoy playing including "7 Wonders." Super clean. Comfortable beds. Peaceful. Spent mornings running and exploring Old Rag and White Oak Canyon area trails. Afternoons playing ping pong, grilling on back deck, sipping wine. The kitchen-dining area is open and had delightful dinners. We loved everything about our stay. The place was beautiful, both the house and the surroundings. In the house, every detail was perfect, taking care of everything we could need and more. It was very child-friendly, which was great for our baby and our 4-year old. In the spacious yard we had lots of fun playing ping pong and frisbee, making campfires in the night, and grilling. The place is perfectly located to enjoy the Old Rag trail, which we did, and it’s also very close to nice wineries, breweries and local restaurants. Elena, the host, was super kind, thoughtful and responsive, which added to the great experience.
