The rooms need updating. Stairs, carpeting walls all worn. Very minimal to no hot water in room. Comforters worn with holes. Room was clean. Did not interact with staff except for front desk. He was cordial.

It's a beautiful place, with delicious food and very friendly, helpful staff. Would have been a 5, but the bed was terrible! A cheap old mattress on a platform with a stiff, scratchy, blanket. For $250 per night, I expect better! Room was super clean, air worked well, bath towels were good quality. Location is excellent, and the view is spectacular!

When I made the reservation through Expedia, I did not know reserving a "traditional room" meant no air conditioning when it was over 90 degrees outside. Also, it was far from soundproof, so you could hear every word spoken from the room next door. I ended up paying extra fees to request an upgrade. Once upgraded, it was peaceful and cool with air conditioning. The front desk and restaurant have wonderful staff and surprisingly good-quality food.

Beautiful location, short on basic amenities…consider it upscale camping. Not a good value for the money. Hugely expensive room price and food and beverage prices because it’s the government and where else are you going to go in the National Park. Environment was beautiful, just like God created it.

The property is in an excellent location and has many facilities including ranger led programs that's great for kids. Staff was very friendly and provided detailed information on any requests/questions. We went on early morning hikes and saw deer running around our cabins. Night star gazing was an excellent activity that we enjoyed as a family. Would love to go back to this property again - thoroughly enjoyed our stay

There was a big storm and we lost electricity with no estimated time to be fixed. We had to go in to a town hotel because my husband has to have his cpap machine. The food prices were sky high like $22 for chicken strips with fries. By 3 days later there still was no electricity even in the visitor center.

I knew this was going to be rustic. It's a cabin in the woods, but I still was hoping for something a little cleaner. The only way to get ventilation was to open the windows. There were screens on the windows but one of the screens was not tight against the frame so there was a nice space for bugs to enter. We did not open that window. The window sills were full of bugs and cobwebs. There was also a dead caterpillar on the bathroom floor.! Very thick and so white. Beds were just ok. The shower was small, which I could accept due to the cabin layout, but there was supposed to be a shut off valve on the shower head. It didn't work.

Unfortunately, Skyland is rundown and dirty with dust and dirt on the bedroom floors and peeling paint. Paying almost $200.00 per night (with taxes) should enable one to at least enjoy a clean room and better food options that reflect the area. There should also be an expectation that the staff are educated about the birds and wildlife in the area. Case in point - there was a nest just outside the main office door. When I asked the front desk clerk what type of birds were in it, she simply said, "I have no idea" and made no attempt to find out. We were very disappointed. Fortunately, the trails and the scenery remain sacred. Delaware North, the current management company, should be ashamed and held accountable.
