Escape to this cozy 700 sq ft rustic cabin tucked away on 26 private wooded acres in Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands—your ideal peaceful nature retreat surrounded by towering trees and abundant wildlife.
Drive up a serene 1/4-mile private gravel road to unwind on the porch swing or hammock, spotting deer and birds from your doorstep. Curl up by the wood-burning fireplace with games and books on cozy days, or gather around the outdoor fire pit for starry evenings. Just 2 miles from Quemahoning Reservoir, it's a perfect base for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, mountain biking, and nearby trails.

This updated rustic cabin blends authentic charm with modern comforts: full grid-powered electricity, well-equipped kitchen, bathtub/shower, hair dryer, and essentials—but no TV or WiFi to help you truly disconnect and recharge (cell service available). Embrace the quiet: explore the land, nap in the hammock, build a bonfire, or simply listen to the woods.

This cabin is ideal for a calm, relaxing getaway surrounded by nature. The property is magically beautiful. There is a small stream just down the hill that you can hear while sitting by the fire or lounging on the hammock. The overlook past the cabin is a breathtaking view. We saw deer, turkeys, woodpeckers and a variety of other birds during our stay. The cabin itself is as cozy as it looks in the pictures (maybe even more) and the little details like the design on the stair railing and the decorations around the home really show the thought and care that went into making this cabin a home. Every necessity was provided: firewood, soap, shampoo/conditioner, coffee, even seasonings as well as a variety of games, books, magazines, and puzzles. There is no tv or internet but it was not missed. Between the activities provided, exploring the property, and visiting nearby attractions (would highly recommend Living Treasures Animal Park, Somerset Lake, and Buttermilk Falls, all within an hour from the cabin) we were not bored for a second. Check in and check out were very simple and the host was quick to respond. We had a perfect vacation, my only regret is that it wasn’t longer. We would absolutely come back.

Clean and cozy. Good communication with host. No wifi. Good cell reception. Road would be an issue in heavy rain or snow so plan accordingly. Bumpy, slick, rocky, ruts, one substantial pool of water. All wheel or 4 wheel drive recommended with such weather. Other than that a 10/10.

This was a beautiful experience for my fiance and I! The listing is entirely accurate. The location is beautiful; the people of Stoystown are very nice. There's a Walmart 15 min away, too, as well as a Bar/Restaurant up the street. There is no wifi or service/reception at all in the cabin. You'll have to go up the street to make calls, where the stop sign is. Beautifully kept cabin at a great price in a beautiful area! We didn't want to leave! Cabin was immaculate! Very clean and listing is entirely accuarate.

My third stay at the cabin was wonderful, as expected. It's a beautiful place surrounded by woods, peaceful, relaxing, and private. It rained all day on one day of my stay, but even that was delightful: I sat on the porch in a comfortable chair and read a book, while listening to the rain. This is our second time at this cabin, and both times the stay was amazing! Cabin is as described. Sitting on the porch we saw deer and turkey. Tranquil Retreat

The property was beautiful and so peaceful! There was a lot of places along the way you could stop at I.e Flight 93 memorial or Shawnee Park, but the cabin was enough for me! The trail to the cabin was a little rockier than i expected, by my little Nissan and I made it, so no harm done. I definitely recommend this place to unwind.

Just what we needed

We originally planned to stay 3 nights, but we loved it so much, we extended our stay 2 extra days! The space was perfect for my sister, brother-in-law, and me. The table seated 4, and the living room space had a beautiful handmade rocker, a reclining couch, and another recliner. The bedroom had a queen bed and a twin bed. Speaking of beds, the beds were so comfy, and I slept so peacefully.The view from the top of the hill behind the cabin was incredible, too. My brother-in-law has limited mobility, but we were able to drive our 4WD to the top.We explored the covered bridges (found a driving tour in a magazine at the cabin), and we also visited the Flight 93 memorials close by.This was probably my favorite place we’ve stayed on vacation.

Perfect Getaway Spot

This cabin was one of our top 3 VRBO places we’ve stayed. Secluded but close to stores, restaurants, etc. We went to the Flight 93 Memorial and Ponfeigh Distillery. The memorial is so emotional but also so important to visit when you’re in the area. Ponfeigh is a fun spot. Live music and food trucks on the weekend. Chris is the best to work with. Answered all our messages quickly and thought of everything that you could want/need. The cabin was immaculate, comfortable beds and furniture. So cozy. Loved the porch swing. We would absolutely stay there again and highly recommend this cabin.
