3. The Bluff

Overlooking the town of Encounter Bay, the tall dome known as The Bluff offers a challenging invitation. Climb 318 feet (97 meters) up the somewhat steep headland to reach the top for 360-degree views. Look northeast to see Wright Island and beyond that Granite Island, about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) away. Bring binoculars and try to spot the Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Tram making its way across the causeway from the town of Victor Harbor to the island.

4. Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Tram

Ride in style on a double-decker tramcar of the Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Tram to visit Granite Island. The first tram began operation in 1854 on the mainland for transporting goods, with the unconventional railway using horses rather than steam for power. By 1894, services expanded to include passenger travel.

5. Victor Harbor Heritage Trail: Petrel Cove Trailhead

Bring the kids to visit Victor Harbor Heritage Trail: Petrel Cove Trailhead for hiking, with ocean breezes and gorgeous views. Make a short loop east for the somewhat challenging climb up Rosetta Head (The Bluff) or head southwest to Kings Beach before returning to Petrel Cove.
