4. Parque de Bombas

This historic firehouse is named for the traditional hand-pumped water units once used on the island. Situated in Ponce’s town center, the Parque de Bombas is hard to miss. 5. Camuy River Cave Park

Visit Rio Camuy Cave Park to explore hundreds of limestone caves strung along one of the world’s longest underground rivers. This stunning area in central Puerto Rico has been carved out over centuries. While the indigenous people of area have long used the caves for shelter, it wasn’t until 1958 that westerners discovered the underground waterway. Exploration uncovered a network over ten miles (16 kilometers) long, featuring over 220 separate caves, and the third longest underground river in the world.
