Every year, hundreds of thousands of car racing enthusiasts and casual tourists make the pilgrimage to the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Daytona Beach Boardwalk is Daytona Beach’s historic promenade and the place to be for seaside fun. It stretches for about half a mile along the Atlantic Ocean foreshore between Main Street and North Ocean Avenue. Known for its clear water and on-sand vehicle access, the Beach at Daytona Beach is one of the prime attractions in the area. Daytona Beach Pier (aka Main Street Pier) has been one of the most recognizable and photographed sights of Daytona Beach since its inauguration in the early 1900s. Originally a simple palm log structure, Daytona Beach Pier was rebuilt after being destroyed by fire in 1920. Today it’s a focal point of the city and a place to spot wildlife, enjoy panoramic vistas and dine on mouthwatering seafood.

When you visit Daytona Beach, expect to hear music from the Daytona Beach Bandshell, along with sounds of ocean waves and delighted kids’ laughter. Stroll along the boardwalk to attend a show here or simply admire the architecture.

Florida’s Blue Spring State Park is a success story for the proliferation of manatees, also known as sea cows. Just prior to the park’s establishment in the 1970s, 14 manatees were counted in Blue Spring Run. More recently, that number has expanded to over 500 when the annual migration occurs to this section of St. Johns River. Visit Blue Spring State Park between the months of November and March to witness the largest numbers of the marine mammal.
