Then imagine sitting by a crackling firepit as the creek flows by…. This is what a vacation is all about and Creekside Comfort is the perfect place! This cabin is located in the quaint community of Todd, NC which is famous for the Todd Mercantile and RiverGirl Fishing Company where you can rent canoes and paddle down the scenic New River, or rent a bike for a ride on Railroad Grade Road which runs beside the New River. They even teach you how to fly fish if you are so inclined! From the moment you step into “Creekside Comfort” you are sure to feel at home. A warm and inviting kitchen/dining area greets you. Featuring a gas log fireplace, a dining table for four with lazy susan, and even a Keurig coffeemaker, the kitchen is well-equipped for preparing a quick snack or even a full meal. There are tractor seat stools around the kitchen island, so the whole family can hang out together while the meal is being cooked. The living area is a spacious sunroom with gas logs, a flat screen, wall mounted TV above the fireplace, and access to both the front and back deck by the creek. Curl up on the comfy leather sofa with recliners on each end and watch a good movie. Open the blinds and let nature shine in through the many windows. Also on the main level is the master bedroom with queen bed with flat screen TV and private bath with tub and shower. Upstairs is another loft bedroom with a comfy double bed, rocking chair, and a half bath. Sit a spell on the covered front porch and listen to the bubbling stream – that will surely take all your cares away…or build a fire in the firepit by the creek, roast some marshmallows, and catch some fireflies! Located just 7 miles from West Jefferson and 17 miles from Boone, you’ll enjoy the quiet, leisurely atmosphere this log home community offers. The creek snaked through the neighborhood and could be heard and seen as we walked the dogs. It was clean and inviting with all the conveniences of home. It is centrally located to shopping and sightseeing. There are other cabins nearby but you hardly notice them as they blend into the landscape making you feel like you are alone in the woods. The only thing displeasing was the amount of leaves that had fallen and had not been cleaned up or blown off of the property porches and entry walkways which made it difficult to enjoy sitting outside. Really nice porch and fire pit by the stream - enjoyed the outdoor furniture. Had a few small issues - repeatedly struggled to get the front door lock to open, couldn’t find the remote for the gas fireplace, couldn’t get streaming services to work on the tv, couldn’t figure out the shower head in the master bathroom, didn’t like the black grime around the bottom of the master shower, and someone got locked in the upstairs bathroom (because the lock is on the outside). But that didn’t diminish how much we enjoyed staying here. We had a great time and would definitely come back. ##### Anna R. The cabin has the old school cabin feel with some really nice modern updates as well which I appreciated. We relaxed and enjoyed the cozy sunroom and it's beautiful view of the flowing creek right in the back yard. The house is for the most part secluded, and in a cute neighborhood with trees all around. The property was in a great location and it was very clean. It looks just like the picture but is better in person. The little stream is Great! Very quite and close to Boone and West jefferson. The cabin is very unique and is well stocked.We didn't want to leave but we will definetly be back! To top it off, the office staff were great. very friendly and helpful. The whole experience was one for the books. Most of the time there is always at least one thing wrong, but not here. Perfect! We saw deer also! The location is great! We’ve actually stayed in another cabin in that area before, but this cabin itself is lacking. The outside could use some sprucing up. The stream behind the cabin is wonderful, but the old lumber, wood, sawhorses and mess piled under the house looks awful.The charcoal grill is like one in a park. The inside of the cabin is okay. Not as bright as it looks in the pictures. There are light switches everywhere and it’s difficult to figure out what one turns on what light. Several lights had blown bulbs. The kitchen eating utensils were skinny tiny forks. If you want to cook breakfast, you need to take your own frying pan. The 2 there are small and everything sticks. There was no dishcloth to wash the dishes with. The master bed was not comfortable and we could never get the tv to come on in there.
