"Highly recommend for a budget friendly option. The location of this hotel was perfect for folks hoping to avoid the crowds at VA Beach. The hotel is nestled between residential neighborhoods just north of Virginia Beach -- there is a restaurant/bar on site with Virginia Beach restaurents a short drive away (not walking distance). It's an older facility and as such, the common areas are a bit dated -- but the rooms are large, decor/bathrooms are updated and the beds are SO comfy. There is garage parking to keep your car cool. We were upgraded to an oceanfront room on arrival and the view of the beach, and the sunrise show was stunning."

"The staff is amazing. The complimentary coffee available 24/7 is amazing as well. Our room was perfect, we did the 2 double beds with the pull out couch. I love that room and it was my second vacation there with my family. I like to be on the 4th floor or higher for the best beach views. The elevators get a little busy but other than that we love going there."

"The room was clean The breakfast was good The ocean view was excellent The fireworks display was amazing, I have no idea why there was one since it was the 16th of July but it was an unexpected pleasure. Hotel is reasonably priced"

"I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn! The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. One of my favorite parts was the breakfast—it had a great variety of fresh, tasty options and was the perfect way to start the day. The beachfront location was amazing, with beautiful ocean views and easy access to the beach. The staff was friendly and made the experience even better. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area."

Schooner Inn

"The Schooner Inn was a nice place to stay. Our 2-bed room was large (wide) and was very comfortable. Deck was standard size but also comfortable. The AC was a bit on the weak side and we had to call to get it looked at, but the tech arrived very quickly (within 30 minutes at night) and said the AC was working OK. Funny thing about the toilet: a male has to hold the seat up while doing his business because the sink/counter unit doesn't allow the seat to go all the way back. This was more amusing than bothersome, though. Check-in took about 5 minutes, no issues. Two room keys, ample parking. Room and hotel property were clean and appeared to be well-maintained. Access to the boardwalk/beach right off the parking lot, no extended walking required. We didn't get to the pool but I would suggest to the Schooner Inn folks that one end of the pool being more than 6' seems a little silly since it's a hotel pool -- people are just hanging out in there, not doing Olympic diving. (I think the deep end was 8' but I just glanced over there...could have been 6'.) But again, no big deal. Two elevators, wait time wasn't bad. Stairs available. Overall, I liked the hotel and would stay there again. Staff was friendly and helpful."

Aqua Vista Resort Hotel

"I have to admit I was a little nervous because of some of the reviews. I was so pleasantly relieved that my room was wonderful. Was it dated? Somewhat yes. Do I care if a few scratches were on the furniture? NO ! Do I care about microwave or having a fridge? Do I care about clean floors, clean bathroom, clean linen with comfortable mattress ?Of course I DO and Aqua Vista DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Was the stairwell a bit sandy and dirty? Who gives a rip! It’s the beach. Where I spend my leisure time outside of the sands and where I shower and lay my head matters and that was excellent. The mattress was just as nice as when I stayed at beautiful resort in Cabo. The staff very nice and helpful. Ice machine always had ice, everything clean even if dated. Floors kept clean in hallways, entry( where it MATTERED).THANKYOU for very nice stay, beautiful views and just a pleasant environment. Ms C"

"Everything was perfect except the bar. You should take a meal if you want to take any drink Take away, otherwise they will not give you any drink. That was disappointed."
