Spacious Cottage Rental for Group Getaway on Ranch near Dallas, Texas

A charming 50+ year old farm house (2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths– sleeps up to 8) that we have updated—and continue to update. It has a wrap-around porch, with your grill and picnic table in the backyard. The barn next door with its 3,000 square foot second floor has been turned into an indoor/outdoor space and has sitting areas and rugs, and can function as a third bedroom with air mattresses or 3 glamping (ie very nice) roll-out beds for those who want to sleep in the barn and listen to the sounds of the night.



Grandpa’s Old Farmhouse is a mile off the road and deep into the property; the nearest neighbor is over a mile away. The Brazos River flows through the property and is an easy 3 minute drive/15 minute walk from the house. You’ll see deer, wild turkeys, birds of all kinds, and other wild things. After grilling your favorite dish, don’t miss the western sky as it comes alive with a million twinkling stars while the coyotes and owls serenade you.



Guests can even meet Dennis the donkey, Joyce the llama, and their animal friends, visit the hen house and pick your own farm fresh eggs, visit the Painted Rock Station where the kids paint river rocks and hide them, visit the fairy forest and build houses for the fairy's, Do some Axe throwing, visit our Petrified Wood Laboratory, complete with magnifying glasses, and learn what it was like here millions of years ago while enjoying a vacation in Texas. Glampers are sure to enjoy their vacation here: it was rated "absolutely amazing" by the Good Day LA morning show!



Guests will find this site to have everything they will need throughout their stay.

We allow up to two (2) dogs with a $99.00 pet fee. There are also four kayaks, two paddle boards and lots of inner tubes free for guests to use, as well as rapids to enjoy on the river.
