We really enjoyed our stay at the Rutland Arms Hotel. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Located in the heart of the town, the hotel itself oozed character and our room had lovely view of the tower on the hill. The pub was a lovely place to dine and relax, and the food was lovely.

Free Parking at rear of hotel. Spacious and comfortable room with all the amenities. Large bathroom. Good service from all the staff at any time of day. Food is excellent. We ate breakfast and dinner & the cabinet food looked tasty too. Great range of beers on tap and gin.

Parking very easy and secure. The hotel is in a great location. Staff great. Bar and restaurant also great. The only small criticism is the shower pressure isn’t great - but manageable and not a problem/. Would definitely stay here again and again

A heritage building that has been recently restored. Rooms are large, lots of native timber used. We had dinner and breakfast, both of which were excellent. Great selection of craft beer in the pub.

The rooms met the old-world charm expected of a hotel of its age. The food and staff were both fantastic & welcoming, with the added advantage of booking meals & drinks to my room. Recommended as the place to stay in Wanganui.

Rooms are very spacious and extremely well decorated. No lift but the barman assisted us with luggage. The room attendant is 75 but she is an absolute gem and very thorough with the room makeup. Bar downstairs is not noisy and has great food BUT I didn’t like the vanilla rice pudding.

The stay was good and very enjoyable The only downside was very loud music being played somewhere near the Rutland Arms late at night. I rang reception at 12.00 (midnight) but got no answer. I felt very frustrated by this!
