Summary:
Two-bedroom, two-bath cabin in The Woodlands near Mazama and Winthrop. Features include an upgraded kitchen, large reclining sofa, 65-inch smart TV, games, Wii, and DVD library. Bedrooms have queen beds with new bedding, with a private bath and twin pull-out in the primary. Outdoor seating, hammock, rinse station, and Weber grill. Pets welcome. Winter ski trail access to the Methow Trails via the new Devins Ranch trail.
The Space:
This two-bedroom, two-bath cabin is set in the pine forest of The Liberty Woodlands community, a short drive from Mazama and Winthrop.
Inside, the main living area includes a large reclining sofa, a 65-inch smart TV on a pivot wall mount, and entertainment options including a Nintendo Wii, DVD player with movies, and a small selection of board games. For children, the cabin provides Lego Duplos, bath toys, a Graco Pack ’n Play, and kid-friendly dining items including cups, plates and utensils.
The owners love to cook and have equipped the kitchen to a chef-quality standard. It features quality stainless cookware, a full set of bakeware, and well-organized labeled storage. Small appliances include a blender, crockpot, and microwave with an external vent fan, with an air fryer/toaster oven and mixer coming soon. Under-counter lighting and a USB/USB-C charging station add convenience. Coffee options range from French press to Keurig to drip brewer, with limited ground coffee and filters provided. A brand-new two-burner Weber propane grill with utensils is also available on the porch. Guests are welcome to contact us for a full list of kitchen amenities.
Both bedrooms feature queen beds with new bedding. The primary bedroom has its own bath, with private entry door, and a pull-out twin bed tucked underneath the queen for younger guests. Cooling is provided by two portable AC units, one in the main space and one in the guest room, with a fan available to move air toward the primary.
Outdoor features include a covered porch with seating for four, a hammock in the backyard, a rinse station with hot and cold water, and a new two-burner Weber propane grill.

The Neighborhood:
MAZAMA
The Liberty Woodlands community is located 3.5 miles from the Mazama Store and the Methow Trails trailhead (for access to hiking, mountain biking, cross-country ski and snow-shoe trails). In addition to the store with its renowned bakery and groceries, Mazama is home to the Goat’s Beard outdoor store (with mountain bike and fat bike rentals), the Mazama Ski School for cross country ski lessons and rentals, and the popular Mazama Public House for local brews, food and music.
In 2025 a new groomed nordic ski trail connecting Liberty Woodlands to Timberline Meadows and the John's Way Trail opened, providing a connection to Mazama and the Upper Valley trail system. The lower valley trails can be accessed from the trailhead at Brown's Farm 2 miles down the road (a future trail is also planned to connect direct from Liberty Woodlands).
NORTH CASCADES NATIONAL PARK
The Trailhouse is also conveniently situated for easy access to the North Cascades and the trailheads to many of the Park's world-class hiking trails. It’s under a 25-minute drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 30 minutes to Washington Pass and 35 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead.
WINTHROP
The Trailshouse is also just 10 miles down the road from the old west town of Winthrop, with it’s popular shopping and art galleries, the Shafer Museum (lots of local history), bakeries and dining establishments. The Winthrop Rink boasts one of North America’s only NHL-sized outdoor rinks, hosting ice-related activities for the entire family in winter, and active sport and pickleball courts in the summer months. Winthrop’s annual calendar of events includes the Rhythm and Blues Festival, Vintage Car Rally, Memorial and Labor Day Rodeos, and Christmas At The End Of The Road (check the town’s website for details).
Getting Around:
Getting Here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over State Route 20 and Washington Pass, also known as the scenic “American Alps” (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or via highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combined, these routes make up the scenic Cascade Loop. The nearest major airports are Spokane International Airport at 180 miles (year round) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (190 miles in summer / 260 miles in winter). Regional flights are also available at Pangborn Memorial Airport in Wenatchee, located 102 miles away.
Getting Around: Nearest winter trail is the Methow Community Trail. The Mazama Store is 3.5 miles / 6 minute drive Winthrop is 10 miles / 15 minutes drive. Okanogan County Transit Authority’s Trango service provides Mon – Sat transportation to/from Twisp to Mazama from roughly 7AM to 7PM.

EXTRA GUESTS AND MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
The cabin can sleep up to 4 adults. In addition, there is a twin trundle bed and a pack and play crib, potentially accommodating an additional child and infant.
PETS
Up to 2 dogs are allowed for a fee of $50 per pet, per stay.

The Inn Pool - guests of our cabin may use The Inn at Mazama outdoor pool (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day) and tennis/pickleball court located at 15 Country Road in Mazama. The cost to use the pool is $10/guest/day and you should check in at the front desk before heading to the pool. The Inn also has a co-working space and private offices available to rent by the day in case you need space to work during your stay.
