The room itself was very clean and comfortable. It had a bit of strong smell--not bad, just strong and somewhat spicy/woody. It is a wooden cabin after all so I'm assuming maybe it's from that. If you're not into winter sports, there's not a lot to do around there in the winter. Many shops are closed. It didn't matter though, we were there for family. Summer is a lot more fun for us!!

Winthrop attracts many different kinds of people - skiers, snowmobilers, hunters, walk round tourists, mtn bikers, hikers...great place. Everyone seems to get along and is happy.
