The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Oamaru.”

“The accommodation is very poor, the toilet facilities are very old, and if you check out late at night, they will charge you 25 NZD per hour. This is the first motel I've stayed at, and it's not cheap. I suggest not staying here in the future.”

“The door was broken with a screw hanging out of the door handle which is asking for injury. When we first got there they said the key was in the door which isn’t very safe, then next minute they have lost the key and it takes them 10-15 to find us a key while we just stand around and wait. We go upstairs see the door handle and it’s literally a box with a bed in it. The bathroom had a dead fly in the shower. Wanted a full refund but only got half even through we did not stay there. DO NOT……

“Wonderful historic building that was once a girl's boarding school. Very quiet location with great walking areas on the property. Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious chocolates also made on the property. Would highly recommend. ”
