Rooms small and old property is really run down and half the time the bar_restrant was closed

The upstairs rooms were very nice. The issue was that the room was very small. The room was kept neat and tidy by the staff, which was well appreciated. I would recommend staying at the first or second floor, we read many stories about the basement being very warm due to no a/c or windows. We only wish there was a laundry service and/or washer and dryer and more fans avaliable. The luggage room was also a well done addition!

Stay was average. Definitely clutching at a 4 star rating. It's dated decor and bathrooms suites need to be upgraded. No drinking water in the rooms considering the water dispenser outside our room was a wooden box and a unconnected PVC pipe. Had to go to the bar to get bottled water and then was expected to pay! If you have high expectations of what a 4 star hotel is then you need to bring them right down. Mr Macdonald needs to cash inject to update the property it's looking very very tired. Lots of stairs so if you are not good with them or in a wheelchair or have a baby in a pram like us don't bother as the restaurant and bar are up and down stairs. Our dog friendly room also has stairs to access. The female changing rooms has half theights working so you had to get ready in the dark. Our extractor in our bathroom was so noisy. Staff were friendly but a bit all over the place. Just did the job due to our circumstances but definitely don't have high hopes of you think this a luxury 4 star hotel.

We were extremely satisfied with our two-night stay in Edinburgh. The room was cozy, well-equipped, and exceptionally quiet at night. The host was warm, welcoming, and very thoughtful throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends, and I hope to have the opportunity to stay here again in the future

Perfect place to stay. Great location, property was beautiful the staff so helpful and a wonderful breakfast. I would love an opportunity o visit Edinburgh again to stay here.

The bathroom is very good, great design, everything has been thought of, but the sleeping area wasn’t great, it was so small, most of it is taken up by the huge bed frame and clunky faux marble table. We had a really long walk to our room with no lifts There was a wedding on Saturday and our room was literally next to the party! Roof top terrace is literally a terrace, you have to buy your very expensive drink from the bar and carry it yourself up to the roof terrace. Breakfast needs more variety Staff were very attentive and helpful and the location is fantastic. However it’s not worth the amount we spent per night

This was our second time staying at Inn on the Mile and it was just as wonderful as our first trip! The room was so well put together and nicely stocked with snacks and amenities. The location is superb for Edinburgh's Old Town and the staff is so friendly!
