The hotel and staff were fine if I were paying $400 a night for a room. However, it was approximately $900 per night. There was nothing about that hotel that was worth $900 per night and I’m very familiar with hotels, locations, and high season rates throughout Europe. The only explanation I have is that it was the night before the Iron Man triathlon in Nice, which ended up getting canceled because of excessive heatwave.

The room was small but the bed was clean and very comfortable and the shower got hot water quickly. It was nice to have a working kettle, coffee machine, and tv in the room. The air conditioning broke during my stay but the staff were kind and brought a fan and it was fixed the next day.
