"The only good thing about this hotel is the staff's friendliness. Apart from that, nothing in it really works. To start with, they charged me MORE than agreed in me reservation in Expedia arguing that that was the price for when you choose the "pay at the hotel" option. "We had a wonderful time at the Alojamiento Bellavista. Manuel, the owner, was very kind, helpful and truly cared about our well-being. Hike to nearby Laguna 69 in Huascarán National Park or join locals celebrating the annual Virgen de la Asunción festival with music and regional cuisine.

You shouldn't do this hike unless you're in good shape or have acclimated to the high altitude, but it's so worth it. I went with a tour company from Huaraz. Getting to Laguna 69, after passing Llanguanuco and meadows and cows and ruins was incredibly rewarding. It's a beautiful place - don't miss it!
